I have a product name keyword that's easy to rank for but the only affiliate offers are from amazon and commissions are low. The price is only $49 so the commission will be around $2.50 or somewhere near.

The search count is:

exact 2,400 global 1,000 local

phrase 4,400 global 2,200 local

my question is, will it be worth targeting?

and how much could you estimate it would make?

    Well...

    Let's say you get 3.000 visitors a month (from those keywords probably less), and you convert 2% into buyers.. That would get you: 60 Buyers a month. At that price, you would make 150$/month.

    I wouldn't do it.

      Not sure when 3000 a month came from on a keyword that gets 1000 exact local searches? Even if you get all 1000 (unlikely) at 2% is 20 buyers... however amazon can convert higher. But at $2.50 each you'd need 40 sales per month just to make $100. Not worth it at all when you can do the same work for a product with $25 commissions

    I am trying to understand this forum.. Is this a place for internet marketers to sell their services? It is a bit overwhelming... Can someone try and give me the readers digest version of the purpose of this site?

      There is a place for people to sell their services and products. However, this main forum is for the discussion of (and ideally sharing of information on) marketing on the internet in general.

    If the product gives $2.50 commission I'd say it's not worth it. Even at 15% you're making less that $.50 per click to their site, and less than half will click from your site.
