Ways to implement... Combining strategies.

So I have been at this game for a few years, mostly offline as a marketing/PR firm. One of the things I am always playing around with is how to mix the presentation of a site/format.

I have information products and e-books, blogs, and landing pages. Let's say I have an e-book about weight loss and create a blog on the topic rich with keyword articles. Should I create a landing page within the same domain as the blog for the sales copy or should I create a separate site for the sales landing page. In the same respect, I have a companion guide download for free to help increase upon my current list. Should that be separate.

  • ex. 1: easyweightloss.com (just an example) - informative blog with rich keyword content/articles. easyweightloss.com/e-book - ebook sales landing page. easyweightloss.com/free-guide - opt-in page
  • ex 2: easyweightloss.com - blog; easyweightlossbook.com - sales landing; easyweightlossfree.com - free guide/opt-in

There are multiple options, but I like doing 1 site, because it is easier to optimize; however, I do understand the benefits of separating all of it as well... In many other campaigns, I have tested all of the options and have had varying success. I think they all work, but I am just curious what some of your thoughts are and what you all find to be the best combination?
