Appropriate number of tags on one post!

I am using wordpress blog. Just started blogging and was not clear on number of tags my posts should have. Kindly tell me the appropriate number of tags that my posts should have that can help me rank good!

    It can be....I would stick with 6 to 10 and I would make them all very similar to your main keyword. Add words like "best", "top", and other short words to your main keyword for your tags. Also, make your keyword phrase plural as well.

    I am using 6 to maximum numbers of tags with my blog post. I think it is good to include many tags as possible with your blog posting but these tag should be very relevant to your content of blog posting.

    I wouldn't go beyond 4 unless you were absolutely sure it was relevant because that should be the ultimate goal of your tags, relevancy and putting too many tags on each post just makes it look like spam IMO.

    If you are familiar with Unique Article Wizards. They suggest maximum of 5 tags each post. And mostly the articles ranks in Google pretty good.
