Due to your requirement, Blogger.com is the best place for you. There it's possible to monetize the blog with Adsense. Apart form Adsense, there are hundreds of ways to make money through a Blogger blog.

But you have absolutely NO control over a Blogger Blog's continuity. You can log on tomorrow and your site has been removed. If you are planning a blog including monetization, YOU need to be in control, not Google.

If you have your own web hosting and domain name then you can go with Wordpress.org. You can download it free and upload to your server.
If you don't have domain or hosting then you can go with blogger or wordpress.com. I use blogger as it is quite straightforward.

As others have pointed out, you can go in two directions.

First, the easiest approach would be to create a free blog on a public service (e.g., Blogger, Wordpress, Xanga, etc.). Another option would be to use something like Squidoo or Hubpages. They aren't exactly the same as blogs, but you might have more luck monetizing your content if you go down that route.

Second, if you're planning to create more than one blog, it might make sense to buy a hosting account (there are numerous cheap options -- ~$5/month) and a few domain names. Then, you can easily set up a blogging platform (e.g., WordPress), which will give you maximum flexibility.

Best one is wordpress, i have reason for this - It will give you experience for working with wordpress regarding plugins, etc.
So when in future you make a site you can easily figure out everything.

Use hosting from sibername.net or marblehost.com, they have supported it on their servers and their prices are affordable.

There is a lot of contradiction in your OP...

- "nice ideas" are useless, in most of the cases. How will those help you to "earn from that blog"?

- you should create your blog on your own domain. It's that simple.

- it is NEVER easy to customize, beyond switching from one template/theme to another. (Everybody saying that WordPress, for example, is easy to customize for newbies - is a liar!)

- and we are back where we started: how to make money from your blog. Now that is an idea you should work on, not the niceties

Note. There are many people who blog just for the sake of blogging or sharing their thoughts, and that's absolutely fine. However, posting a blog-related question in the "how to make money" forum means that you should start with the idea WHY you want a blog and what will you do with it to earn money. If you don't have the answers... maybe it's premature to think about it.
