Membership Website Trial Offers?

Hi guys,

I'm about to launch a quality membership site for IMers.

The purpose and major benefits of the site can all be seen up front, there's even access to all the content via a search function - a 'read more' button takes you to a sign up page if you are not a member.

What would you consider the best offering for a trial membership?

3 days free?
7 days for $7?

Or does this really depend on the site?

This is the best way how it works, Let people to get the membership totally free and present limited offers (for free members). Next, show the benefits possible to getting as paid members. As an example, If it's an eBooks store, offer few eBooks free and suggest a paid membership for accessing into whole store.

You can't beat testing. Try both and see which gives you the better results.

    Thanks Guys!

I'm sorry I've not been back sooner! I'm new to this IM stuff and very new to the Warrior Forum (and forums in general if I'm honest.) I thought maybe I woul dhave got an email or somthing telling me I had replies, but maybe I've not set things up right in my profile bit!

Anyway, site nearly ready after having massive server issues! My 750GB database is far to large for shared hosting and so I was forced to go to a dedicated server! Which has been a nightmare, as I'm not a techie!

I've decided againist a trial membership, and I think when you see the site you'll understand why. I'm all for giving away free content as teasers and samples etc, like you said @sscot but on this site, there is nothing to give away as such, as there is access to see and read everything you will get with membership, though you can't actually get it, so to speak, unless you sign up.

And unfortunately @Louie, giving a months free access would mean they could get pretty much everything they wanted and more during that month if they had the time to spend doing it.

Membership is only $9.97 a month and it's very obvious what incredible value this is when you're on the site.

So I'll see what the take up is, and then try out and test a few free trial options like you said @rosetrees and then see if the revenue increases.

Oh and as thank you, and by way of an apology for not coming back here to read your replies sooner, I'll come back to this post when I launch and PM you all a free lifetime membership to the site.
