So I'm doing this series of video transcription and ...

Here are two of the videos I just finished:
‪There Is No Loyalty When You Compete on Price » Sally Hogshead, Keynote Speaker‬‏ - YouTube And a dead bug video: ‪How Small Businesses Can Win » Sally Hogshead, Keynote Speaker‬‏ - YouTube

So I'm listening to this stuff and I'm thinking, oh yeah, I am definitely Boring with a Capital B. Seriously, my bookmarks site (Bookmark Wedding Favors and Custom Laminated Bookmarks for All Occasions) is boring. My content is boring. My site is boring. My descriptions are probably boring. I need help!!

Okay, so I've made four bookmarks sales, almost $500 this month. Yeah, well I should be making $500 a WEEK by now, at the bare minimum - IF I wasn't so BORING. There is nothing memorable about my website. Sure, I customize everything without extra charges, so my price point beats my competitors. I deliver on time, in fact, I OVER deliver on everything I do for my customers because I believe in that.

But so what? Nobody remembers me or my site. I should be getting REPEAT business by now too; so someone gets married and has bookmarks then later on they have a baby shower and order bookmarks, etc.

I also accepted the fact - years ago - that I'm extremely short on creativity. I can usually never come up with something on my own that's genuinely creative. My brain just doesn't work that way.

So I'm reaching out here and looking for suggestions on video "commercials" I can do for my site that will WOW customer prospects and turn visitors into BUYERS and then REPEAT buyers.

No matter what the occasion or event, I need something that will drive home the point that bookmarks aren't JUST for "readers." And that so what if the wedding couple or the party host or the deceased loved one or whatever, so what if they don't read. SOME of the guests are readers and will appreciate the bookmarks.

I need something to drive home and spark an interest that sure - you're having a seminar and you'll probably be selling some print books, so what better little extra to have on the table than BOOKMARKS.

I'm ranking higher than my top competitors, who have been online for more than FIVE YEARS on some of my main keywords. But the sales are not there and bounce rate is horrendous. I need to change that. So I'm thinking it's time to move into some serious video marketing now - "commercials," for all intents and purposes, which none of my competitors is doing. I need to plain and simply blow them out of the water. I need to be THE AUTHORITY when it comes to laminated bookmarks for any occasion or event.

But I have no idea how. I've never been considered a "funny" person or like I said, even a creative person. (There's really nothing too awfully creative about doing bookmarks in Publisher.) But I need some video commercials to kind of "fake" it. I need some suggestions, ideas, thoughts, what have you, to do some video marketing with Jing or Camstudio and PowerPoint.

So if you all don't mind, can you pretend that you're looking for party favors, birthday keepsakes, seminar swag bag items, gift bag items, Halloween treats instead of candy, business promotional items, funeral/memorial keepsakes - whatever - anything - you just need "something" but you're not sure "what."

What types of video commercials would make you say, "Oh yeah! Bookmarks! What a cool idea!" And you'll hurry up and click on the link to my site. What would do that for you? What would make you say, "Oh! I have to tell Susie or Jim about that for their party!" "Such a nice idea, better than those small prayer cards for funerals/memorials."

That's what I need. I need to do what NONE of my competitors is doing.

Thanks a bunch!

I now return you to your regularly scheduled forum participation while I finish these transcripts. LOL

    Hi,
If none of your competitors are doing video marketing, then probably any type of video would give you a leg up, even if they aren't the most exciting videos. It seems to me that you should focus on one market segment per short video so you don't have to combine keywords like "funeral memento" and "promotional gift," if you see my point.

I bet if you look around you could find someone here who could create fun videos to promote your products.

      Thanks Gail!

Yes, that's exactly what I'm thinking too; one short video for each type, even one short one for each segment of the weddings too, so:
      • 19 videos for weddings
      • 1 each for the other seven occasions/events
I'd need 26 videos. With that, I think I'd be in pretty good shape!

I was just on YouTube the other day on a referral link from a real estate investing forum I'm a member of. That plus the seminar clips today I'm transcribing drove this home for me.

So, you go to Remax.com website, pretty straightforward, corporate, nothing really too exciting compared to any other RE site, right? But check out their video marketing!!
