I am creating a amazon review site I was wondering should I add video reviews or just article reviews or maybe both.

I want the site to stand out from other boring unhelpful amazon sites.

any ideas?

I have found that if I offer a very well researched and informative product reviews as well as being impartial with these reviews that they convert nicely for me.

You could, of course go the extra mile and do the video reviews and present these products in review format, you will get a following for sure. I would say that you will also see traffic from your videos when you host them on youtube. Dont forget to add the link to your domain.

Do one review with only text, do another with only videos, do a third with both.

    See which type converts best.

    • Hello and welcome to the forum!

As the others said, test which convert the best.

If you are going to create a video make sure to watermark your video with your website URL, so if people steal the video, it will atleast point back to your website.

And if you are going to upload the video to a video sharing site, like YouTube, make sure to have your keyword in the: Title, Description and in the Tags.

This will help you get ranked higher in YouTube and when you are ranked higher in YouTube, you will get targeted traffic.

Ah... testing, testing, testing. It's harder and more time consuming in the beginning, but it works!

I would definitely test them - text only, video only, both. You can do three separate reviews on three separate (but similar) products with similar traffic numbers.

          Good Luck!

                    Steve,

My post was honestly only as help. I wasn't trying to do anything other than point out about your aff links and the rules of WF.

Sorry if it sounded anything other than friendly advice, as that is all it was to you. I come here to make friends, not annoy people.

              Hey Steve

Im guessing you did not read the rules before posting as affilaite links are not allowed in the body of messages.

              To the OP

I use both but it depends on the product but having a video certainly keeps the viewer on your page a little longer and in my eye adds a bit more interest to a review site.

If the customer is like me who likes to watch video I would be more inclined to want to see the product in action especially if its a musical instrument or some other product that people want to see in action to make a choice.

I would use both and those that like to read can read and those that like to watch videos can do so.

              Kickin it on Amazon

Video reviews of whom? It you find a youtube review then yes, add it. This for sure helps with a good content on your page.

    Hi Professor SEO!

I would say aim for a text product review and then if you can add a YouTube video at the end of the review, that would be even better. Google does like sites that incorporate YouTube videos so chances are very good that many of your products will have some related videos on YouTube....As a result, your site will rank more favorably!
