The money is in the List

I've heard this phrase many times "The money is in the List". Anyone can tell me how much money have you earned in your list?
Thanks.

My list generates a 6 figure income

Just start small, buy some solo ads, do some ad swaps and you will get there eventually!

I know you heard that the money is in the list and stuff like that

That is plain wrong . The money is not in the list . The money is in the relationships you have with your list and promotion

What do i mean ? You can have a list of 150,000 people who don't know you and never buy from you . So , you might have a big list but not earn anything because they don't know you .

you can scrap and spam people who didn't give you permission and they would just delete your mail. If you are lucky , you would might make one or two one-off sales but you don't really have a business

You can have a responsive list but if you don't promote to them you don't make any money .

If you go help people , bend over backwards and create massive value , deal with their issues and promote a product that you genuinely solve their problem you would earn more money from a big list of targeted people

List building is residual targeted traffic on a tap !!!

and if you do it right , it can be money on a tap as well !!!

All very true. I know a friend who teamed up with two JV parnters who and in one deal had access to over 300,000 e-mails. Now his partners did have a relationship with the list, but he did not.
The result, was like 3 sales from this. Lesson learned: RELATIONSHIP. You can have higher sales from 1 list of 1000 than from 6 figures. It sounds amazing but its true. The best way to build a relationship is to provide quality content and speak from your personality.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I've been subscribed to many people who constantly just market email swipes all the time and every time I always keep in mind to unsubscribe from them since they only want your money. Everyone wants to follow that individual who actually provides realistic solutions and isn't out to take your money. This was very well said bro.

Based in experience, knowing how to communicate with our list effectively is more important, rather than worrying about the list size.

Simply because human will only buy our product. In order to persuade them, we need to know how to communicate, by aligning the solutions to their problems.

it's true that the money is in the list, but it is also true that the money is in the relationship that you build with your list. Here's my shocking story...

Before 4 years I was an internet newbie and all I knew was to build a squeeze page to build a list. I went about creating a simple squeeze page and started building my subscriber list. Just wrote around 478 articles in a short span of time around 2 to 3 months and submitted all around.

Slowly and steadily this created momentum and I build a list of 6000 subscribers. I went lazy and stopped marketing my site due to the income it was generating, however the initial surge of the articles sold over 20k worth of products having a 4 product funnel on my site.

I was excited but I never blasted any emails to the list, nor I made any relationship with them apart from the standard 10 follow up emails I had setup.

Results - My 6000 leads literally became unresponsive. Infact I shifted my autoresponder from an inhouse script to an online service and out of these 6000 leads only 24 transfered there. It was a shocking nightmare for me.

However this thought me a lesson to constantly develop relationship with your subscriber list or you will have to start from ground zero. However I am glad my 6000 leads made me good chunk of cash but that wasn't recurring income. However we do learn from the mistakes we make...

I have been online for a few years and can tell you that it is not all about your list.

People keep saying that and I don't think that it is 100% true.

If you can get a lot of people to see your offer every day and do this consistently, then you can make more or less the same amounts of sales.

You can make more money if you or the product owner has upsells attached to what ever you are selling.

The money is not in the list. It is more like the money is in how many people see your offer each and every day and how well it converts that determines your success.

an autoresponder is simply a tool setup to automaticly send a response email when an email comes in. An autoresponder is a very useful tool.

I also have many confusions about this list thing. Well, actualyy how to build a list I guess the most common answer will be to use aweber on the blog or website and make people to subscribe. All right, than I need to send mails or most precisely sales letter which is loaded with the affiliates link. Is that all email marketing but xcuse me its not an art

I have found if you want to really experience the power of that saying....

"The money is in the list" it is not all true.

The power really is in how your treat your list, and the relationship you have with your list.

I have learnt this and by testing lots. if you do this correctly your income will grow with your list exponentially.

    totally agree with celente

while list building is something i havent tried yet, i do believe that the relationship that you build with your list is EVERYTHING. a great trusting relationship results in a money list.

I can totally appreciate what you are saying.

that was back when I was not earning much at all.

But when you start listbuilding and you do it with the intention of what I said above and doing it properly, your business turns into a proper business not jsut a money spinner or hobby that brings in sales here or there.

A whole new world will open up when you start to build your list and leverage others work and powerful lists also. It really is that powerful. I can go on all day about this, but really untill you try this yourself, you will not know.

      Good luck! :-)

About that statement, i don't really believe that since it will not really determine that you are going well in your business. It's the relationship that will determine your flow of money.

I suppose I would say "There IS money in the list", rather than "THE money is in the list"

As with all areas of business, every model works differently. I would say most methods to make money online do need a good list, but there are plenty others that dont. Fiverr broking, Kindle publishing and affiliate marketing utiliising SEO are 3 examples. (that said, these three are very good tools to help build a list!)

One of the aspects that will improve sales is reputation. As I am fairly new to IM-ing its something I am working on. If people cant trust your product/service you wont get very far.

No it's not. It's in the relationship that you have with your list and the value that you provide. If the money was just in the list, spammers would be the richest people on earth.

Great insight on this thread...many people think that all you need to do is send traffic and your list will grow..its about making that relationship last.

I use solo ads because I am building up, but once I hit hat 2000 mark I will start doing adswaps. This is how to grow your list fast.

But the key here is having multiple streams of traffic to your squeeze pages, because with every email you send...you WILL get unsubs.. in fact some will unsub as soon as they get your free product

    $004,000 a month hahahaha ROFL - Ramone.

I just started out with Internet Marketing a month ago. The first thing i learned about is "List Building" so that i what i am trying to do. Not making any money from the list as yet, but then again i'm not yet really selling, just trying to build it bigger with ad-swaps and solos, i'm sending related content to the niche as incentives so the list gets used to opening my emails, and i have tried a sales pitch or two, but the list is only at 122, which is hard to make money off i think.

    Grow the list.....Grow the list.....people.
