Manufacturing Help!

I have a friend who is starting an online shoe store. She's been talking with a manufacturer that she likes but she doesn't know how to communicate with them and what questions to ask to make sure that she gets the best service for her customers. Can anybody who deals regularly with manufacturers give me list a questions to ask them to make sure business runs smoothly?

    Well that is a very general question so here are some general points of discussion:

    What is the cost of the product?
    What is the minimum quantity?
    What price breaks come with higher volume?
    Do they drop ship (blind on non blind)?
    What are the terms (cash, 30 day, or something else)?
    Is private label and option?
    What is the turnaround time to complete an order?


    These are the basic questions that will get the ball rolling in any conversation with a manufacturer. After that your friend will have to run with it.
