Need A Mentor To Help Me Create Info Products

Hello, although I haven't made much money online I'm not a total newbie to Internet Marketing. I don't have a lot of money to pay someone to mentor me, but maybe I could offer a service (ex: writing articles) for payment.

I want to create info products and be able to sell them successfully. I have bought a few products on product creation, but there are still some things I am missing. If someone who has had success at this could mentor me or guide me in the direction of a good mentor, I would greatly appreciate it.

If you are very good in article writing then Amazon is offering $2 for each 400 words article. Try with them and earn handsome income.

No this is helpful, but I know how to make money by freelancing and writing articles. I've had success at doing this on Fiverr, but to me this is very time consuming for the low price I was being paid.

I want to create and sell my own info products and need a little help getting started with this.

To earn $2 for a 400-word article you have to be "very good"?

      And that's "handsome income"?

Even on Fiverr, people are earning twice that amount for a 400-word article. And they're typically "dreadful", not "very good". I don't know which is more depressing: the fact that someone's offering $2 for 400-word articles or the fact that some people may actually be willing to write them.

It seems lonely out there when you haven't a shoulder to lean on. I feel your pain. Although, I don't like to suggest mentors, I will send you to a forum member. I cannot vouch for her service, but, you can check it out.

For me those require two very different skill sets!

I am not saying there aren't people good at both... but at the beginning you should figure out on which part you want to focus more.

I understand that... and that's why I said it is not the same to create them and to sell them.

Also, "info-product" is kind of vague: it can be ebook (pdf or .exe), video, audio, webinar, coaching etc.

One might be an excellent writer and have a speech problem, for example.
Or you might be able to excel in all of the media I listed above - but you may be a bad marketer... or vice-versa.

Most of us, "product creators" started by writing a report/ebook and setting up a sales page (sales funnel).

You will have to be more specific WHAT exactly do you want to learn.

You're right I need to be more specific. I want to create a report/ebook on an in demand topic and set up a sales page. Then market it to potential customers.

Hi Cheree, the best way you can create an info product super fast is to create an audio training package. I was in a list recently of a successful marketer where he posted a challenge of creating an info product in one week. However It took me to create one info product, that's an audio product and it got done in 3 days approx. I created a five and a half hour audio training package in IM niche in around 3 days lazily and got the site, squeeze and everything ready in around a week's time and won the challenge. The winners got a mailing to the list who had posted the challenge.

Here's the process I used to create an info product in a nutshell...

    1. The first thing you need is information about the topic, you should know the topic well that you are creating an info product for. If you are in an altogether new niche you should go about doing some research and grab hold of some products in your niche to gain knowledge so you have sufficient content to create your own product.

    2. Next thing you need to do is structure your content. I mean write down approx. 10 headlines or titles that you will be covering up in your audio training package. These are the main titles or you can say you will create one audio for each title.

    3. Now take your first title and write down 10 sub-titles for your first title. Do the same thing for all your 10 main titles or topics. Now you have 100 titles to create your content, that's 10 main topics and 10 sub topics for each one.

    4. Finally you can take it in this way, you have 100 topics you need to write articles. Just research good content for these 100 topics and start recording content. I used a free software to do the recording, you can search for audacity in google and you will get the link to download this free software.

    5. If you have a 5 hour audio package you can easily sell for $97, a 10 hour audio could be created as a physical home study course and sold for $147 to $197. A 20 hour recording could be sold for $497.

    6. Now that you have your 100 topics you can easily create a salesletter out of this as you can convert these topics into benefits. A super fast way to create your copy is to grab Yanik Silvers 'Instant Salesletter Templates', he has a new 2.0 version I guess released or grab 'Amazing Letter Templates' software, it is a cool one I use.

You are up with your info product. I used the exact process above to create my info package in one week's time that I will be converting into a physical package and selling for $497 shortly.

And a cool tip. Go to plr store and grab some free PLR articles, ebooks, etc in your niche and add up as bonus to increase the perceived value of your package. You can even grab a complete PLR package or articles and convert it into an audio product, that's again a super fast approach.

    Hope this helps...

    You dont need a mentor.

Simply buy 2 or 3 successful Clickbank products (usually go for $77 each) and study their structure. And then, apply the same principles onto your own product.

You don't need a mentor. You just need to study and mimic already-successful products.

I don't know why I didn't think of this. I'm sure I have a few products already on my computer that I can study and possibly mimic their style.

        Cheree,

You just said it. You need to step outside of your comfort zone...

Someone who is really skilled and experienced at both marketing and product creation will want to get paid to mentor you. Mentoring and coaching - when done right - takes a lot of time and most of us cannot give up that sort of time easily. Bartering for the mentoring might work, but it also sets up a bad dynamic because if you're going to be working on creating and marketing your own products then you're not prioritizing the work you bartered for the mentoring and if you do prioritize the work you bartered then when are you going to create products. You're most likely to find someone will promise to "mentor" you and then take advantage of you as cheap labor.

Information products are not difficult to produce. It's one of the big reasons why they make for such a good business model. You can produce an eBook with a word processor. An audio course with Audacity. A video course with Camtasia. You get the picture...

We all have information products on our computers. Review a few of them that are on your computer and make an outline as to how they are structured.

I'd suggest putting those writing skills to work for yourself and write a short eBook on a subject where you feel you can add value. Put together a sales letter, a simple mini-site, etc.

Most importantly, don't try to make it perfect. Just get it out there. Make a couple bucks. You'll be uncomfortable, perhaps scare. Maybe even sick to your stomach. But you will now have had some experience, you will hopefully learn from any mistakes, and then you will do it again. You'll get better at it each time that you do.

At some point you may want to pay a coach or a mentor, or attend a training seminar. But, none of that stuff will help you until you force yourself outside of your comfort zone.

        Good luck!

Ok the first question you need to ask is

    1) are you willing to put in the hard work. Newbies I see treat this like a hobby. Do make sure you treat this like a business.

    2) Are you in niche that is good, and has lots of hungry prospects out there. You may need some help there.

    3) Coaching will help you, but you have to play yes sir, no sir three bags full sir. Meaning you have to do what they say, otherwise you will not see many results. I talk to alot of my coaching fellows, and after a student pays, and gets good advice they go away and do their own thing, as they think they become the teacher. When you hire a mentor they are in command and you paid them to help you out. Not the other way round.

Having a mentor is good, but unless you are ready, and willing to work you guts out you are waisting your time. Just thought I would help.

Good luck with your business but.

    Cherre C,

To get more comfortable at recording your own voice or even doing video with you in it is to just click the record button and talk while you're working, about what you are doing. I know the recordings will be discarded afterwards but it gets you comfortable with the fact you are being recorded.

I used to have all these great ideas I wanted to record but as soon as I clicked on that "record" button everything went blank. LOL

The only way I got comfortable with it is to just do a lot of recording. You don't even have to listen to it and you can delete it right away, but it gets you more relaxed.

As for writing an ebook, that's the easy part...

    1. Start with writing an overview or description of what you want to include in the book.

    2. Sort out the description into a list

    3. Organize that list into a logical sequence

    4. You have your Chapter's overview. You can change the chapter titles later.

    5. Start writing...

It really is that simple! Think of it as an extended article for each chapter, then go back once you're done and make each chapter flow into the next.

You can also go to Amazon and click on the "Look Inside" tab of books in your market and take a look at their Table Of Contents and see how they have theirs setup.

The primary thing in product creation is to find a need for your product first. Not something you think will work, but something people are actively looking for.

If the market is there and is hungry enough, your product can be less than perfect and still be a major money maker.

Some excellent advice here to get you on your way.

Most of all START - you WILL make mistakes as you go along but don't let that put you off.

You will get better with practice and the hardest thing about creating a product (at least for me) is getting started.

    Go for it!

People are giving you some good info. Just don't let anyone discourage you.

I find that the absolute hardest part is to just get started. Just force yourself to begin.

Of course, learn what you need to, but mostly believe in yourself and take action. At least that's what I have discovered. Sometimes I could kick myself for not starting sooner.

Find a topic that you are already have some interest and knowledge in. Next is to source for high quality PLR materials. Revamp those contents by rewritting and add more values to it. After that get your new graphics for your new ebook and rewrite the sales letter to suit your new product.

Open up a clickbank account and submit your product for approval. that's it. You can do this for any niches that you can think of.

          @ Cheree

There is a 30-day challenge (the "Make Money with No Money" one) going on in the Contests and Challenges section. It's free, and we'll be covering product creation, marketing, traffic, list building, etc.

I think it would be a great place for you to start, and you can ask questions in the thread.

Ok, I am happy to put my hand up to help.

PM your email and we can get started. My time is limited, but I am willing to spend some with you to put you on the right track... FREE.

The rest will be up to you.

Suggest that you set up skype as well, then we can arrange a time to brainstorm.
