How much should I expect to pay to rewrite articles/posts? Possible Outsourcing Gig

Hey guys,

I have dozens of blog posts that I need to rewrite so I can use them around the internet on sites such as ezinearticles, hubpages, and squidoo pages.

Most of my blog posts are around 500 words or so. I posted the project on guru.com and have received over 20 bids with prices all over the place. I had few simple rules.

1. Rewritten articles must pass duplicate content and copyscape and cannot be rewritten using article spinner.
2. SEO with 2 keywords (keywords provided by me)
3. Chosen writer will get 3 test articles and if everything goes well, he can get the ramaining 40+ articles to rewrite.
4. Have experience writing for in real estate industry.

I know that choosing the right writer depends on many factors including their style, turnaround time, follow through, portfolio, past experience, price and so on.

My question is: What do you think the reasonable rate is for someone to rewrite my blog posts? I heard from some IM'ers that you can have articles rewritten for about $2-$3 but my quotes are nowhere near that.

Also, are the prices for rewriting the same as writing articles from scratch? I wouldn't think so because the freelancer doesn't have to do any research. Just wondering.

And if someone here can do the work, is reliable, has experience and can do the job, let me know and maybe we can arrange something.

Now that I think about it, I should've posted this here in the first place. Warrior forum is always the best place anyway.

    Hey Peter,

    The rate does depend on several factors that you've mentioned including the quality. And NO - rewriting articles and writing them from scratch shouldn't be the same. But of course, that too depends on what you're willing to pay.

    Have you tried RAC (rentacoder.com)? You should have no problem getting plenty of quotes for rewriting your articles for the $2 - $3 range. You may even find an American writer who'll do rewrites for about $4.

      I personally do re-writes at $10 an article for the size you are talking.

      Yes, the rates are different between rewrites and new articles because they do not have to have research done on them.

      My rates for an article of 500 words is $18-$20 so it is almost half price for a re-write. I think alot of times you get what you pay for. In other words, if you are paying only $2-$3 for a re-write that is the quality you will get. Granted, there are those from other countries that would be happy to do that, but to find a person who can write properly in English and work at those rates you would have to do a lot of seeking and time=money. If you would like I can do them for you, but from the sounds of things you are looking for something much cheaper. Good luck.

        Prices for rewrites are usually cheaper. I do rewrites for the same price I charge for original articles.

        The reason i do this is because I am basically writing a new article from scratch with all the same information. The same amount of thought and work goes into a quality rewrite as to an original article...
