Not allowed to post negative WSO reviews?

Is it an unwritten rule that members can only post reviews of WSOs if they are positive?

Last night I noticed that there was a WSO running that was almost identical to one that was given away in the contest forum. In fact, the wording I would say was 99% the same, copied verbatim from the contest wording.

Since I noticed the WSO pop up, I was reminded of my negative experience with the contest version, and decided to post my negative experience with it. I was not rude, nor was I attacking the WSO. I was simply giving my objective and truthful experience; not only talking about my negative experience but the few positive aspects as well. I offered to verify that I had been a previous customer to any moderator that took issue with it.

Instantly (about 10 seconds later) I received an infraction from the person running this WSO because I was "trashing it" and now my review is deleted.

What is the point of allowing reviews of WSOs if they can only be positive?

I have seen many negative reviews in several WSOs, so I am surprised to read your post.

In fact in one of the wso, there were many negative messages and finally the person selling wso even apologized.

I haven't read such comment from anyone else.

You can only post within the WSO if you have bought through that WSO. Also the user can request for negative feedback to be removed easily.

That doesn't sound too good. I have a friend who's just starting out, and buying WSOs, and he wouldn't be happy to hear that negative comments can be removed. I guess people are paying to post there, but the whole purpose of this forum in my mind is to help each other by talking about what works, and what doesn't.

You are allowed to post a negative review if:

    1. You are a customer and have purchased that product.
    2. You talk ONLY about the product and do not attack the person who created the product.

If you stick to those two main rules then there is no reason why your review should get deleted, whether it's positive OR negative. The WSO person may give you an infraction but as long as what you said is truthful and a real review by someone who has purchased the product, then I doubt your post will get deleted.

Yes, you are correct you can post something negative when it's about the product that you purchased. If I couldn't I wouldn't be purchasing any WSOs. However, they do have an option to remove negative comments. The negative comments force the sellers to provide value by improving on their products.

IF you bought the product and IF you don't make personal attacks, i.e. talk about the shortcomings of the product - they don't get deleted.

To OP: clearly, you were not a buyer of this product, so you were not allowed to post your opinion about the product.

You were 99% sure that the contest product and the WSO were one in the same?
How do you know that the person running the WSO didn't just copy the contest
pitch because it also matched the planned WSO.

If you did not purchase the WSO then you have know way of knowing if they are
the same nor if the WSO is a revised version based on reviews given during the
    contest.

Your review was deleted because you didn't purchase the product from the
WSO therefore you had no right to post a review Positive or Negative in the WSO thread.

You can only post within the WSO if you have bought through that WSO. Also the user can request for negative feedback to be removed easily.
Owen, It's not as easy as you think. If a Mod finds out someone has purchased the
WSO product and is giving an honest review based on their own findings and not
attacking the person but the product then the review will stay.

    Have a Great Day!

No, I hadn't bought that exact WSO, but it was from the same person. This was an SEO service, not an info product, and the wording is, like I said, 99% the same except the contest version had a few changed words so it would make sense for a contest.

I'm not trying to be belligerent, believe me. If this is actually against the rules, I apologize, but I sincerely don't see why it would be. It was, for all intents and purposes, the same service in both the contest and the WSO.

    Matt,

You missed the key word: "Bought."

I saw your comments and left them there, since you stuck to facts and made no personal reference at all. However, I don't blame whoever deleted it, since you had won something in a different offer, and hadn't paid for the product. It's a close call, and either direction makes sense.

You weren't a "previous customer" if you didn't buy the WSO, no matter how similar it may or may not have been to another product in another forum. You don't know if it was the same or not - the WSO version may have been radically altered based on feedback the author got from the contest. Or it may not have been. You simply don't know.

If you didn't buy the WSO, then you can't "review" it. That's probably why your post was deleted, not because it was negative (assuming that you didn't resort to personal attacks in your post, of course).

If it's worth your time and expense, buy the WSO and THEN post your comments.

    [EDIT]:
I honestly didn't intend to just repeat what's already been given as explanations. I just type too slowly to be timely in my responses

Alright... if this many people think I was in the wrong, then I'm not going to push it any farther. I still don't think I was wrong in posting a review based off of the "free" version, especially when the dollar value was toted in the contest.

The fact is, though, that this was a service that is possible to judge objectively. It's not like I was giving my opinion or pulling things out of the air.

This thread can be closed, if any moderator sees this.
