Are you allowed to encourage people to click on the Facebook like button in return for an incentive? Just wondered if that is allowed.

Thanks,

Jon

It doesn't seem to be as strict as Google's adsene policy, I have seen paid Facebook ads asking visitors to click Like.

You know gateway page setups are allowed, in which pressing like gains access to hidden content.

Yes you can do this with a hidden reveal page. You state your offer and they can only get it after they click the "like" button.

Wordpress Like Locker Pro does this. You can set it up where a person can only read a certain amount of content and then they have to like your page/site in order to continue reading. Facebook from my experiences doesnt have a problem with this.

yes, it should be allowed. I've seen many facebook pages offer something in return for clicking on 'like'

I've seen a lot of Facebook pages that offer something interesting yet the person can't see it until they click the like button. Facebook seems to allow this method.

The most important Social Plug-in, and the one we’ll no doubt see the most use of, is the Like button...and therefore put it on your page.

I think most companies (big companies) are using "Like" as their first requirement to join promos and contests these days.

I think it's less strict than Adsense because nobody has to fork out money when a page/post is 'Liked' unlike Adsense ads where someone paid to put that ad up.
