I need help... (RS Millions and Trading)

Hey Warriors. This is a kinda personal topic for me, and it's going to be a fairly long post, so please bear with me.

Back in 2005, I bought a guide called "Runescape Millions". Basically, it was a guide for making money in an online game known as Runescape (I'll attach a copy in this post. You'll need to be running Windows XP, otherwise it won't open).

The method involved was called "Merchanting", or trading items for a profit. For example, you could go to a chicken coop in a town and buy feathers from other players for around 3 gold coins, then go to a bank in a big city and resell them for 5 gold coins.

The big money was selling in bulk, so instead of a few feathers you would sell 1,000+ feathers at a time, making bigger profits.

It was all about supply and demand, plus a bit of having a good feel for the market and some selling savvy. I was actually quite successful doing this (I became a millionaire in Runescape), and had fun too. Trading for a profit is a very addictive process.

So what does this have to do with internet marketing? Well, one day I stopped and wondered if I could make money online in the same way that I made money in Runescape.

I started out writing a guide sharing my own knowledge and posted it in a forum, and it was very well received. I then wondered if I could sell a guide covering the same topic, and the rest is history. I learned everything I could about SEO, PPC, Article Marketing, Product Creation, Salesletter writing, etc. I went through the learning process for around 2-3 years. But for some reason, none of it was really sticking with me. I just didn't find the idea of selling infoproducts appealing.

So I looked back to trading in RS, and thought if I could make money online by trading items in RL. I liked how in RS, you didn't need to "sell" any of the items. Players already knew what the item was good for, so there was no need to write a sales letter. I also liked how you could do everything from your computer, without leaving home or meeting face to face with people.

I looked at ebay, but was turned off by the complexity of the system and all of the fees. I also looked at dropshipping, but it's very hard to find a legit supplier.

So then I figured the best way of doing this would be to buy from ordinary people and resell on classified ads.

And this is where I need help.

I've never done anything like this before. I've studied it plenty, but never actually tried.

It's very, very hard for me to take action all on my own. It's easy for me to lose focus, overcomplicate things, and become overwhelmed by the task at hand.

I need someone who has experience with this sort of thing to walk me through the process. I don't need hours of skype coaching, I just need someone who can be available on facebook chat or something, so they can help me break down the process into manageable steps and stay focused on each task.

If there's someone who does have experience with real life item trading/arbitrage, I'd love to hear from you. I'd like to talk with you to work out a plan I can follow, one step at a time.

Or, if you have any advice or tips that you could post here in this thread, that would be very helpful too.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

    Shameless bump.

TL;DR: Does anyone here have any experience with selling stuff on classified ads, or item arbitrage (trading items for a profit), or running ecommerce stores, etc.? If so, I'd love to hear from you, as I'm trying to break into this business myself, but need some guidance along the way.

    Thanks!

it may be difficult to fi8nd dropshippers but it isnt hard to find wholesellers. Once you find the right wholeseller that will deal with you, use a service like FBA to handle all of the shipping.

There are apps out there that allow you to type in product names and get online prices from amazon. from what i know there is plenty of products available on sale in stores like walmart everyday that sell for higher prices online.

ive thought about this some and have friends who have been buying books and videos from local sources then reselling online and using FBA to ship.

    the idea is sound

Yeah, right. Don't believe it folks. The people making money on paid surveys are the people selling paid survey products, not the people who take them.
