Hallo sharks

Could someone quickly explain to me what is a solo ad and how does it work?

Thanks in advance

It is usually when somebody with a BIG mailing list offers to mail your offer to the list in a separate email all by itself.

you pay someone to send out an affiliate link of yours or a link to your squeeze page or one of your products to their list...

Its a good way to get some initial traffic to your squeeze page to begin building a list...
Once you have a few hundred subscribers, you can then swap lists... you send out an add for someone else and they send out your ad in return..

There are also some newsletters that may have 3 ads in a newsletter and you can pay more to be the top sponsored ad vs the last one on page. This would obviously be less than a solo ad for that same newsletter since there are more in the newsletter.

Buying solo ads is a great way to build your list but it can be very risky if you're not careful. A good place to go to buy solo ads or to do ad swaps is safe swaps

You simple get someone who has a list to send an email with your link inside. Your link ofcourse is a product your promting. Make sure your link does not send prospects directly to a sales page. Send them to a squeeze page first and make sure your squeeze page converts at least over 50%

A solo ad is an ad sent by itself to a subscriber base.
They were more popular a few years ago, sold by
most newsletter owners with big lists. Now most
list owners don't send ads for others as easily.

They were called "solo" because no other ads
went out with them as again a "top sponsor"
ad or your ad sent with a few others.

solos work well when you would like to gain some initial traffic, i have heard of my close friends building a very large list from solo ads. it works well due to the fact that you can build lists but you need to have a decent or very good, i recommend testing your squeeze page before hand.
