How do I record a video of a tutorial?

INTERNET MARKETING

I have spent a lot of time writing tutorials and giving them away as free pdf's but people prefer video.

What advice do you have for me to record a tutorial on Photoshop as an example? I would obviously need to talk through it but I need to record the screen and not myself.

Hello Di,

Look into a tool called "Camtasia 7", that's what I use, have no idea what it sells for at the moment but whatever it is, THAT'S what you want. Great tool indeed!

If you are on a Mac get Screenflow if not then try Camtasia.

Or rather "Camtasia Studio 7", either way a Google search will point you in the right direction.

With this you can record powerpoint presentations
record the screen (and voice narration)
the new update even includes Speech to Text (although I haven't tested this properly yet)
Record via webcam

Basically anything you can think of, clear instructions, very fancy, very awesome

Both for PC, not sure about free versions for the mac

Took a look at Camtasia but totally out of my price range at the moment. Still learning how to make money :-)

I downloaded the free version of CamStudio and will try it out tomorrow.

Thanks Vlad. I actually downloaded CamStudio and learnt it this morning. Works relatively well for me but found I had to record short clips otherwise it would bomb on me but I managed to finish my first video tutorial ... ever :-)
