Question for Clickbank Vendors...

So I just launched my first product ever. I am sure I have made some huge mistakes as I am new to this game. I am struggling to get the traffic needed to make sales, but I am laying the foundation for that targeted traffic in the future.

My question is for any clickbank vendor. How long did it take you to make your first sale on your first product? Did it happen overnight or did it take you weeks or months to get things going the way you wanted. I know there are vendors who are established and can make a product launch like no ones business but I am more looking at people who were in the position that I am now. Thanks in advance for any replies.

      Chris,
I won't start my PPC campaigns til early next week. I am hoping that will help in the buyer traffic department, but so far most of my hits have been from affiliates that I think are just looking for products to promote. Many have signed up but they haven't sent much traffic if any.

Unless I do something fast it could take me a long time to get to 300 actual potential buyer hits.. Only a hand full so far have been real potential buyers if that.

My problem is everything is so new. Most my articles haven't even been approved for publish yet. The domain, the site, my blog, it is all new. I am only ranking in google for my own name right now which isn't good.

Now the site I built few years ago for my dog salon does great but it took me months to get that site ranking good and having a high PR and all those things that make it great and give it good targeted traffic.

Yes I did put a link to my book from that site. You bet I did, but those visitors are mainly grooming clients they aren't looking to buy books are go into any type of pet business. I only linked it cause the site has a good PR and is about pets in hopes it would help give this site a push in the right direction even if it is just a little bit.

PS. I am a member at that forum but it hasn't been long enough for me to post a link in the affiliate section. Thanks for your info!

Lets go back to the fundamentals.

Who is your target market? Bizopp people? Pet shop owners?

        Your copy is not credible.

        An example:

"Let me show you how you can start making HUGE PROFITS creating your own high end pet products from the comfort of home... You can START TODAY!"

        Huge profits? Really?

        Proof?

        Proof is EVERYTHING.

        What about testimonials?

        And do I know you?

You never introduce yourself on your copy.

I can't find your name on your sales page.

No pictures of yours to be found anywhere.

        Good luck

So let me guess...you are logging into your email account
every 3.5 minutes to see if there has been a sale yet. lol

It took me about 2 weeks, but I also did not know enough
at that time to make sure MY SALES PAGE was INDEXED
in Google and showing in the searches!

The CB marketplace can bring you some affiliates but
even they may take a few days to get your link up
    and start sending traffic.

Then of course is the wait for your first cheque. lol
Then after that you set your pay out to $50
And when that becomes annoying, you set it as high
as it will go to prevent more administrative work.

Instead of wondering when your first sale will be
... get going on creating another product.
    and then another.

and so on. You will find out that the more products
you make ... the easier it is to make them!

    Best!

Well clickbank is a bit flawed in the sense that most affiliates tend to promote products with gravity... since your product is new don't count on many affiliates coming your way until you can show some gravity.

Keep focused on traffic generation. Find other websites about your topic and contact those people to see if they want to promote your product. Make sure to have promotional material like banners so you can offer these to webmasters. See if you can find people with a list in your niche or related niches and get in touch with those... Also make sure your cut is worth it for the affiliate, in the beginning I would do the max 75% to get as many people interested as possible.

    Good luck.

I'm afraid Hardy is right. That page is so pumped it could almost fly on it's own volition.
I realize there is a disclaimer in the middle that says that it's not a get-rich scheme, but the rest of the copy is screaming that it is.

If your product is a good one you don't need to use all that flash and hype that is going to send alarms blaring when people read it. Be honest and positive. If you are getting your copy ideas from this forum - you're following the wrong warriors. About the only thing super hype does now is alert the FTC of a possible scam.

As far as clickbank - I was a vendor at one time, and one of the honest ones. When I put my product on clickbank I had a about a 75% refund rate - all within the first minute or two of purchase. Outside of CB, I've sold mega times the amount and never have had a refund request. For that, and a few other shoddy practices there, I would not list a product on that site ever again.

Many obstacles you're needing to overcome here...

Your price is quite high for a CLKBK product ($99) and it being your first effort, I think that may be reaching a bit....that price alone may cause a longer wait for a first sale, and a second sale, etc.

One more thing: You are targeting what may turn out to be a 'sliver' of a niche.
You want pet groomers who want to become product manufacturers, right?

These are very different businesses, and may prove difficult to get interest in this, even though they both have something to do with pets.
