Why every Warrior and Internet Marketer should have your own Little Monsters......

I loved this article about Lady GaGa because it shows why she was crowned the most powerful star on the planet.

The Forbes editor Dorothy Pomerantz said that Lady GaGa beat Oprah because she uses Twitter and Facebook to send her fans into a frenzy resulting in more sales and media attention.

Forbes credited her success to the connection that she has with her fans who she calls her Little Monsters.

She nurtures this relationship that she has with her fans and they connect with her in a way that is unlike any other performer.

She even calls herself Mother Monster.

When you read the article you will see her fans almost worship her. Many of her "Little Monsters" even say that she changed or even saved their lives.

Even if you are not a fan of Lady GaGa's (I'm not) read this article because it is fascinating and it shows the power of building a strong bond and relationship with your customers.

I am mentoring somebody at the moment and encouraged her to do this. Here followers to her online video diary now refer to themselves as her "Watchers" and she addresses them as such.

It works and is extremely powerful.

Here is the article:

Totally agree. Social media has taken the world by storm. And now with Google circles social media is getting even hotter! Those who are still thinking whether social media has an impact, stop thinking. Get into it.

      Absolutely.

The example of how Lady GaGa connects with her fans and engages them fascinates me and is something that every single one of us can do no matter how large or small our followers are.

      She's very clever.

Lady Gaga has her Little Monsters. Justin Bieber has his "Belibiers." The Grateful Dead has their "Dead Heads." This forum has it's "Warriors."

The key is to get your followers to not only passively follow, but actually identify with you SO strongly that they're willing to LABEL themselves as your followers (like "Warriors").

Just about every sports team has this perfected, as the fans all take on the team mascot name (e.g., "Vikings"). Political figures and commentators can do this (Ditto-heads, Obamamaniacs). And the list goes on.

Many people like to label themselves and put themselves into boxes. It makes them feel safe. It gives them a sense of belonging. It bonds them with the others in the box. Think of Seth Godin here with his "Tribes" idea -- same concept.
