What's Your Biggest Internet Marketing Fear?

It's said one of the hardest things to admit (especially us macho men) is our fears to others. But the definition of courage is not the absense of fear, but not letting fear stop you.

In addition, one of the quickest ways to defeating fear is to admit the existence of it. So, what's your biggest Internet Marketing fear?

For example, personally one of my biggest Internet Marketing fears is running out of niche ideas (maybe that's why I work so hard at it).

What's your biggest Internet Marketing fear? Thanks for your courage and honesty to admit and share it.

mine use to be not making money consistently. haven't worried about that in a few years though..

A few years ago I could make $7,000 in one month and the next month I was making only $500 then the next month I would do $4,000.

Now it's just on a consistant up ward climb with every month a little higher than the last.

I think most people would agree that fear of failure is a big one. This tends to manifest itself in so many different ways that people often don't even realize that this ai what they are feeling.

For example, the new-ish IM'er that keeps reading and buying and reading and buying and never actually taking that first leap to get started. If that person really delved deep enough, they would probably realize that it is fear that is preventing them from taking action. Once you get over that initial fear and make that first step, you'll usually find that it gets easier and easier to go along.

Fear of ridicule or of making mistakes - many people are simply afraid to look stupid or to make mistakes. The thing is, though, the best way to learn is to just do something, then learn from the success or failure. We can always learn from our mistakes and absolutely EVERYONE makes mistakes! Whether you are brand new, a seasoned vet or a guru. We're all human and we all screw up from time to time.

My biggest fear with internet marketing is losing my fingers. I would have to switch to a software to do my writing and I hate that. My talent comes out through my fingers so if I lost them I would be in big trouble.

Seriously, there is nothing to be afraid of with internet marketing for me anymore, but the one thing I was most afraid of before was spending money to build my business. I was scared that something would not work, but now I can afford to spend a bit more so testing different marketing methods is much easier.

I really don't fear competition or economic events, but I do fear government over-reaching and slapping controls on internet usage and commerce.... that would strangle business and has crossed my mind.

That's a good point, how long will it take Washington honchos to place controls on the net like China, Iraq and North Korea, Syria and other countries try to do?

I have to say the fear I have is a little different. It's not that I will fail at IM/PLR, but that I will have to find yet another way to achieve what I want from life. I have failed so many times before and each time it's a setback and I feel like I'm running out of time. It's not so much the loss of work or effort - it's having to start over again.

Don't get me wrong - this time is much different than all the last, and even if I do fail (I don't think I will) I know I'm not the type of person who can go through life without trying again...it just gets tiring.

my biggest fear is investing time and money into something, and for it not to work out, and the lost opportunities of chasing that one thing.

My biggest fear? That Al Gore will take back the Internet... :p

On a more serious note, Brucerby's comment about government interference and regulation is one of mine.

Along with a less logical fear of someone blindsiding me with one of those impossible to answer "do you still kick your dog" questions. The kind where the only strategy is to figure which answer will do the least damage.

I'd have to agree with Bruce.

My biggest fear, by far, is the government coming in and screwing things up as they are so prone to do.

It would be very easy to regulate small entrepreneurs out of business on the Internet.

I'm also fearful that the continued proliferation of deceptive and fraudulent products will give the government every excuse it needs to over reach and take more power, making it harder for legitimate small business to survive.

Of course they will be doing it "for our own good and protection".

My biggest internet marketing fear is approaching in 2012. It will be the end of everything I have ever worked for in that niche; years of toil all destroyed quick as a flash in one day.

When I drove a cab, I had plenty of fears. In IM, I don't see anything to be fearful of. I have a few minor concerns, but to call them "fears" would be a great over-statement.

I think most people here will agree that the most common fear in the internet marketing is the failure to convert that task/work into money. I mean the failure to earn some decent money online.
Most people who fails at their first few months or even weeks here at the IM world, eventually quits the business and would then venture into some daytime jobs that will require one to work for more than eight hours.
It is not surprising, since people have this concept of fearing the uncertainty of their chosen path and are too afraid to face the reality of their decision.
In making some decision, it is important to have your commitment and determination all together with hard work as the base of your drive for work. I mean, you have to set your mind for this kind of work since it requires your attention and focus on this. this is not an instant money kind of work, you have to work to earn your money.
As from a famous statement, "There's no such thing as free lunch", which means everything has to be worked in other to gain something.

i fear losing some of my big checks, i get some very nice checks from epn and google and have seen far too many friends get the big ban. think ide cry if i got banned by epn or adsense at thi8s point haha. i would survive and shift monetization pretty fast but theres nothing worse than loosing a few thousand dollars a month over night.

no matter how diversified my portfolio gets that kind of hit hurts. I am trying to movve more into offline markets and markets where i have more control over my paydays.
