What do you enjoy most about this business?

Whatever it is that you do to earn money online, what aspect do you enjoy the most?

The isolation of this form of employment is a continual drag. It's all so monotonous and laborious. I've not once got out of bed in the morning excited about doing one thing that needs to be done in this line of work when I'm honest with myself, despite the money I know can be made.

Sounds like you should find another line of work.

I enjoy it that is what keeps me going. It is challenging and I love a good challenge, you can be your own boss, have customers from around the world, make money while you sleep, build a nice recurring income, and have fun!

    What is not to like?

Yes, you should get another line of work, absolutely!

      I LOVE what I do.

I LOVE that I can stay home and homeschool my son and still make a full time income.

I LOVE checking my emails everyday to see who wants to know what and how I can help them.

I LOVE checking my stats and seeing effortless money made every day.

I LOVE learning something new and evolving with the internet

I LOVE that I have evolved with the internet - that I can tell my son (who loves computers and the Internet) things like "there was no Internet when I was your age" and "when browsers first came out there was no such thing as tabs"

I LOVE that I work in a field that makes everyone around me think I am super-smart and super-advanced and that there must be something special about me to have my own business and to have Google pay me money.

I LOVE that I am showing my son by example that if he doesn't want to he never has to get a J.O.B.

I am super-excited to get up everyday and see what's going on with my websites.

I wonder if your sites don't contain any of your personality and soul? My sites all do. People can email me. I'm a real person. They know my name and they can ask me questions. That's the fun part.

I really never have worked a 9-5 job, so the question doesn't apply to me. I've created opportunities for myself by offering something of value.

I understand the kind of financial freedom working online can potentially provide. That's what attracted me to this line of work in the first place. I just haven't found a meaningful and fulfilling way of making that happen.

I miss face to face interactions with people. I guess that is what I need to work on. That is finding a way where I can incorporate what I actually enjoy.

Most enjoyable part of making a living online, is if I go out in the morning, I'm the only one on the road completely relaxed. I don't NEED to be anywhere, the people on my bumper do, haha.

But yeah , if you dread the work, find something that makes you happy! Good luck.

There can be some very repetitive and monotonous parts to marketing such as article writing and backlinking. However, these can be outsourced in time. I just started making online videos and have found that to be creative and invigorating. You can look at other aspects of IM that may help you to feel more excited.

Last week I was in a Boston's Market (a chicken restaurant) and the manager's cell phone alarm went off (he was ringing me out at the register). I said to him, "Well you made it to work on time". He said, "I have it set to go off 30 minutes because there's something I'm supposed to do every 30 minutes." This really reminded me of some of the nice aspects of working from home and in IM.

It sounds like you should think out what you do like about online work and what you can do more in versus outsource to others.

Are you saying this as someone who's tasted success? If so I find that remarkable. Sounds like you need to change what you do, apply for some jobs that will make OTHER people rich!

I myself am unemployed and I'm new to IM, but since I started 1 month ago, every day has gone by so fast and I've been constantly busy getting things done! It has not been a chore because I want to be able to work for myself and make a comfortable living. I've been in the 9-5:30 job before (ironically in SEO) making the shareholders rich, while facing a torrent of abuse over the phone from clients. I'd much rather be productive trying to make money for myself than anyone else. And with that in the back of my mind, all my hard work and efforts will seem worthwhile! (Even while it is early days and no results have so far yielded)

This is not an easy business and there will be times when you ask yourself if this is the right business for you. It is not a lonely business if you interact with other marketers, go on webinars and participate in forums. I wake up every morning looking forward to learning something new and I am never dissappointed. The money is good too.

I will give you a tip and that is outsourcing. Once you get to a point where you can afford to pay others to do the work for you, the business just gets sweeter. Hang in there coz the best is yet to come.

I've spent my time in the trenches.. 14 to 16 hour days online spinning my wheels doing tedious stuff that wasn't a lot of fun... but once I found out what was working to bring in money, internet marketing became more enjoyable.

Sometimes you've got to go through a little turbulence to get where you want to go.

As for the original question, I don't know what I like most. It's either waking up and checking my mail and finding money, not worrying so much about keeping a pesky job, or maybe it's freedom to travel on a whim.

Imagine the joy and liberation you'll feel when you are free to just pick up and leave town whenever you want because your "job" is on a laptop. Hang out online at Starbucks for two hours a day and call that work!

Greatness is difficult to appreciate from close up. The great mountain on the horizon is only the ground when you are standing on it.

I'm working a 9-5 job as a non-profit CEO and cannot WAIT to get this going to the point where I can quit and do this full time.

What do I like most? Writing. I have always loved to write, and finally am creating a lifestyle where I can do what I love. I also have fun editing (no, really), so looking forward to getting more clients who want my editing skills.

And as for the isolation, I've developed a working relationship with another IM'r and it really helps. We talk every day or every other day (she is thousands of miles away from me) and neither one of us feels isolated in the work. Highly recommend this tactic.

If I loved to write, I know I'd feel differently. But I don't like writing. It's excruciating for me. SEO is not much better, but I can get lost in the repetitive nature of the tasks.

I know how to plan sites out, structure them properly, and get them ranked. I know how to earn doing this. But I can't find one aspect, like yourself, that I actually really enjoy doing.

At the end of it, I'm left wondering what kind of value am I really providing on the Internet and what sort of satisfaction am I deriving. If it's just about money, that's not enough.

Thanks for the reply! Appreciate it.

What I enjoy most is when my email alert is dinging constantly on my phone telling me I've received another payment.

I like the freedom to run my business my way. No boss looking over my shoulder, giving me the evil eye. I like that I can get online when I want to and do what's needed, it's not 9 to 5. I like that we have a product that is quite unique and fills a void and that people are buying it and liking it.

    I like working for ME!

It is about finding a 'system' that works for YOU. No, I don't mean a system you bought in the WSO section that claims to be the last 'method' you will ever need. Something that makes money that works for YOU personally and has good ROI.

Enjoyable parts of having your own business - especially an IM business is being able to work on the internet from ANYWHERE...even my iPhone. Freedom... no not freedom from doing 'work'. Freedom from a 9-5... saying you have to take a lunch around this time... you can't take vacation because Sue and bob are on vacation.Freedom to do what you want for the most part.
