Free Camtasia Alternative

Just in case, someone is looking for nice working but free Camtasia alternative, I would recommend this one :

screencast-o-matic

There're upgraded version, but free version is enough for short tutorial (15 minutes)

I've using this for 4 months and it's fantastic.

Not much function, but I loved it, because it don't take so much resource.

      • How long the video can it make? Up to 30 minutes?
      • Is zoom function available?

        Thanks for the inquiry cause you made me look for and find a solution for both of us!

        will work on Systray while CamStudio is recording AND you get to draw right on screen! WooHoo! Make sure you're running HD codec CamStudio Lossless Codec v1.5 and you have a TOTALLY FREE screen recorder w/ zoom and on screen drawing!

    another free Camtasia alternative is Ezvid Freeware Screen Recorder for Windows .. just type in Ezvid free screen recorder at Google search

    i'm loving it so far - i love its neat interface, usability, functionality, and because its total freeware.

    I own camtasia.. but I really agree about Sreencast-omatic. I bought the pro version.. which I believe is about $12 or $15 I wish I knew about it before I bought camtasia.
    I use it more than camtasia now. I really like it and find it much easier.
    I also found camstudio tricky and buggy.

    BTW.. there's another cheap alternative now too.. Techsmith, the make of Camtasia, has now upgraded Snagit to do video as well as image capture. The new version is Snagit 11

    Camtasia is alright if you got a budget to work with, though.

    I use CamTasia myself but CamStudio is pretty good also.

    I like the one you mentioned OP.. It seems like a better option than CamStudio on paper anyway.
