Plan for Getting Traffic?

Okay, say you have a site. Either one that you love and comes out of the sweat of your brow or an autoblog. How do you drive traffic to it? I want an easy to follow plan that I could give to my teenager or an outsourcer. I really don't know much (nor do I want to know anymore than I have to about that.)

Just what kind of blueprint do you guys use to automate this process?

There is a very simple marketing system I have been using for the last 15 years. All I do essentially is write articles for targeted publications within my niches. These publications include ezines, blogs, websites, and even offline sources such as magazines, trade journals, professional newsletters, press releases, etc. It's not "automated" but it's free as well as being simple.

You can get traffic from anywhere you can leave a link. That means almost anywhere can bring you traffic. This can be articles, press releases, social media sites, video sites, twitter, facebook,etc.. The question is how much traffic can each drive to your site compared to the amount of work you will need to put in. For instance on press releases, you'll need to write the press release and submit it to press release sites. Whereas social bookmarks you just throw in your url and details and it's done. Of course there are many ways you can automate the process to make it faster but you will spend money on tools, decaptcher, etc..

My traffic plan comes down to identifying where my target customers hang around online.

This could be ezines, blogs, forums, Google search queries or social media sites.

Once I know where they are I can tailor my marketing accordingly.

Each scenario is different but my favorite methods are guest blogging, ezine publishing, fan pages, SEO and forum marketing.

Hi, this below is a thread I have made couple of weeks ago, hope it will help..

    -------

10 ways how to promote your site:

Don't try to find any sequence, these methods work for all of us differently depending on your niche.

    1) Forum marketing - (read the forum rules before you start posting!!)

    2) Through Giveaways - (your giveaway needs to be high quality)

    3) PPC "pey per click" - (get some information before you start your campaign, otherwise you will spend loads of money with no results)

    4) Stumbleupon - ( good way to get tons of traffic, I am still fighting with the quality of the traffic)

    5) Social Media - ( lately this is a big thing, it is not so easy as it looks like, so get information from as many sources as you can)

    6) Localy by SEO - ( if you prheps run a business that is in the decent size city someplace, you can use SEO and target it for people from your town.)

    7) Bloging- ( you can find a person with a good blog in your niche, contact him and get him/her to write about you)

    8) Article Marketing - ( if you weren't born as a writer, have somebody to write for you, post the article to the directories and if you will find the ways how to do this marketing it will give you tons of traffic)

    9) Fiver - (find a good offers "gigs" that will help you with your promotion, there is tons of creepy once, but also if you will be searching long enough, you will find good one.)

    10) digg - ( yeah, well what to say, place where you can share anything)

There are also many other ways how to promote your site, If you want share it bellow.

I had been away from the WF for a few days, and I am overwhelmed with how many responses I got. Thanks so much for the answers. I want to automate as much as possible - it seems like I can get a lot done on fiverr. However, are those backlinking services legit? It seems like too many backlinks too fast could get you in the sandbox.

    1. First & best is Google search - try to improve your keyword presense even social media wont drive that much traffic for you.
    2. Use trageted forum not simply any forum. even go to targeted forum thread.
    3. Q and A specially yahoo.
    4. youtube with basic looking vide.
    5. Use 3to30.com for getting some basic and cheap social and seo services. strats from $3.
    6. Finally article writing - dont go for 1 article to 100. go to the best of 1 to 3 ratio. if site is big one go for 1 to1 ratio.

I made a post recently here in the forum about getting traffic, you can view it here:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post4298101

If you are targeting some keywords than ranking your site in the search engines can be a great way to bring in traffic.

Also, by selecting some keywords in your niche (that bring in buyer traffic) and making videos around those keywords, you can bring in a nice stream of traffic to your site.

This can be very simple to do and highly profitable.

It is a wise move to position yourself this way since video traffic is becoming much greater than traffic from contextual websites these days. And this trend will only continue to favor videos in the near future.

You can use a service called Text Broker, they will write articles for you that you could then submit to article directories. Or have your teenager/outsourcer write articles for you, then either start submitting your articles to directories in your niche, or get one of the softwares that will submit to article directories for you. Just make sure to leave a link back to your site with your keyword.

Doing SEO is another great way to get traffic, but it will take more time depending how competative your keyword or niche is. You would basically use the google keyword tool to find keywords that get searched a fair amount but have low competition, then write articles based on those keywords and put them on your site. Write some articles based on those keywords too and submit to the directories and you should start to see some traffic. A good service for backlinks is called Link Juicer...you have to pay monthly but they will build backlinks for you on autopilot which will help your search engine rankings. First month is free too. best of luck

Most people go about getting traffic the wrong way!

Instead of getting traffic to your site, how about you go to them. Your website and products arent gunna sell themselves now are they????

So go to the place where your most likely buyers / customer / prospect is hanging out and try to put your message infront of them. Simple as that.

Getting traffic is more about working smarter, not harder.

100 highly targeted visitors, is better than 10,000 hits to your site that are untargeted.

So true, and I could get a gold medal in procrastination. I think one reason is that sometimes I really don't believe that this stuff works, but I have found much encouragement on this site. I am believing more and more that it is not a fluke if you succeed at this marketing.

I will outsource most of it - especially social marketing which I really don't understand and see the point of. I can write a few original articles for sites that I care about.

I know that Fiverr is great for link building.

Tomorrow and Thursday I will not be here - I will be driving traffic!

every thing depend on the niche. if you can find good keyword with a lot of traffic in your niche you could do seo (make sure your can beat the competitor) if cant just run away in others keyword.

If you cant find good keyword in the niche you can try social bookmarking, forum promoting, article marketing

if your niche have low competition(not mean low traffic) you can find low adsvertise rate.

a lot of way to go mate lol

These are 3 of my best strategies for a successful Internet Marketing:

    Keyword Research

This is the critical part in starting an internet marketing campaign. Before anything else, finding the right keywords for your niche is very essential in any forms of marketing online. Even before deciding for a domain or name of your website, a keyword research must be carefully performed. You can base your website on the most profitable keywords in your niche.
It is in this part that you will study what people are searching for and how many of you who are offering the same products and services that they are looking. So, the two most important things to consider in a keyword research is the volume of searches and the amount of competition. The best keyword is a keyword that has less competition but a considerable number of searches.

    Branding Your Website and Yourself

Your website is the right place where you will do the promoting of your products. It is where you will present your products to the customers and you can talk all about the benefits of having your products. This is the main reason why you need to brand your website, to create an appearance in search engines that people are using to find what they need. To be in the top of the searches means driving high volume of traffic to your website this will give you the opportunity of getting more sales.
Branding is not only applied for your website but also for yourself. You might ask why you should brand yourself in the internet. Branding yourself is essential because most of the buyers will make sure that they are buying good products and one way of knowing it is by knowing the seller. Your name must also appear in search engine with good records making you a reliable person. Buyers don’t want to be scam and they will make sure that the owner of the products they are buying can be trusted and must have an experienced in the particular form of business.

    Building A Contact List

Building a contact list is same as building a good relationship with your potential customers. One way of earning trust from the customers is by providing them useful resources for free. Giving those free materials and even products will strengthen your buyer-seller relationship and will give them the reason to continue subscribing for your products. As you are building your contact list you are also converting these numbers into sales as they will become your permanent customers.

If you are writing your own content then it would be easy to drive traffic, however if you are using automated blogs then it takes time to rank higher as most of the automated blogs have duplicate content and as we all know google hate duplicate content!

Anyway you can try to do article marketing, forum posting, blog commenting and social marketing, it will work!

    1. Write 1 article and SPIN it! Make sure it's over 70% unique!

    2. Go to EzineArticles, Article City, HubPages, Squidoo, Blogger, Tumblr, Wordpress.org, InfoBarrel, GoArticles, ArticleBase, Blog.com. All you really need is those. Submit that spun article to those 10 websites. Make sure to include in each one of those post your URL hyplinked with your anchor text pointing back to your niche website.

So if you were promoting fast cars, then anchor text fast cars with your url being the link pointing back to your main niche site.

    3. MASS ARTICLE SUBMISSIONS. I'd suggest writing another article pertaining to your niche, then spinning that again. Then outsource that to someone on Fiverr to submit it to Unique Article Wizard for you. When they ask you where you'd like your two anchor text links, have them pointing to your various 10 sites. Again with the anchor text being fast cars in your signature, and in your body of your article being an LSI (latent semantic indexing) keyword, like say fast convertible cars.

Then enter each of your 10 URL's to be spun in between each of these two anchor texts so that you're getting links pointing to your web 2.0 sites, blog sites, and article sites.

Now since all of these 10 websites are PR 7 and higher, they can handle hundred and thousands of links coming in per day without Google raising a red flag. What then happens is awesome..

Those thousands of links coming into your 10 posts, then pass the link juice on through to your actual niche site.

This acts as kind of a buffer/barrier so that no red flag is raised up.

And as long as your on page SEO is solid on your niche site, and it's updated at least once per week or every month with some new content which you can easily outsource for $5 an article on craigslist. You'll start rising in the rankings and eventually solidify a #1 spot.

    hope this helps!

    cheers!

There are quite a few good tips here in thread. I use mostly what I already have. I intergrate and connect Twiiter, Facebook and Aweber with WP plugins and use blog broadcast from Aweber.

When I post a new article on my blog, Facebook knows about it, Twitter knows about it and all my subscribers know about it. That's the main source of my traffic and the most powerful as well. I'm not into article submitting though I have a few submitters that I could use... I'm sure I'll get to that point as well!

Hi. For some fast traffic I'd go forum marketing in your niche, article marketing and squidoo lenses. Try to be active on a daily basis with all of these tasks and have your articles and lenses all pointing back to your site.

When you create a new lense post about it in any forums you are active in and ask the community to check it out and vote for it. This will help with rankings and visibility.

Try and keep your articles, short, sweat and to the point but more importantly make them an easy read for your audience and very informative. If you are not to thrilled about writing your content then i would outsource it.

And rather than manually submitted your articles to directories I would use a service like SubmitYourArticle.com

    Hope that helps.

Facebook and Blog Commenting are also great for fast targeted traffic.

Let me give you some tips and steps on how to increase your traffic.

    1. Write quality articles on a daily basis if possible. Since the release of Panda, Google relies on the quality rather than the quantity. You can buy articles online or you can write one for yourself.

    2. Social bookmark it to different sites like squidoo, Delicious, reddit, Digg, stumbleupon, and other social bookmarking sites.

    3. You can use Social Media sites like twitter, and facebook to increase your traffic. Make a fanpage if necessary.

    4. Build quality and relevant links. I prefer that you use pure white hat because Google penalizes or ban sites that has irrelevant content. Blackhat has fast results but it's risky.

You could find similar blogs in your niche, and leave comments on them, ensuring that the comments adds value, with a link to your website ofcourse, unfortunately if your comment isn't good or doesn't flow with the conversation your comment and link will likely be removed as spam. You could also try article submission to the likes of Ezinearticles and Goarticles, leaving your link in the bio, over time this tends to generate traffic
