Have you checked to see if you lost some backlinks? Has it been a long time since you updated your site last? Those are two of the reasons I've heard that could make google drop someone's site. Or it could just be that it fluctuate from time to time. Is it a fairly new site?

Hey ashtonuk, That depends on a number of factors. How long has your site been up, indexed, etc ... ? Have you updated it recently? Did you lose backlinks? Or perhaps your competition beat you out with their use of SEO? Many sites start out very well, and later lose their rankings or listings in the serps. But they do manage to slow gain it back. So, if your site is rather new, you might want to consider that Google has been updating now for a couple of weeks, and probably knocked you down a peg or too. If this is the case, start adding backlinks regularly, and update the site regularly. It will get you climbing faster. ![]() Mary |

Ashton, Set up a blog along side your website and post daily to that. It will in effect be viewed as fresh content to your website if you make at least 1 post a day. This is the quickest way I would suggest graham |

what's the url of the site? what have you done to promote the site? there are a million reasons google might drop you, without a url and some history it could be any reason. |

What was the last thing you changed? Some times a small little tweak of something and off set your entire page ranking on search engines take a step back and try to figure out what was changed. Losing back links is hardly the reason. Also depending on the keyword and how many others are fighting over it will have a huge effect on why you drop rank

i am 99% sure its a temporary thing having to do with the current/recent PR update. Because i saw many sites dropping (incl. mine)...and now they're in again. G. |

I noticed you said you edited some articles... I would avoid doing this because they have to resubmit your content after the edits. Whatever you submitted to the article directories, just let it go and keep writing. You need to keep building your back links. |
