Urgent Squeeze page query!

Hi all

I am trying to set up a usual & proven IM funnel which is to firstly put up a squeeze page and then the main product sales letter page to follow.

However I was wondering if I put both the squeeze page and the product sales pages on 1 domain with squeeze page being the index page and product page to be the sub domain, how will those guys get to the product page if they have signed up to squeeze page and wanting to revisit the product page.

Say if they have signed up already and after having seen the product page, they want to revisit it again but have forgotten the subdomain (they did not bookmarked it).

I understand they may get auto-responder emails from me directing them to go to main product page but lets just take that out of equation here.

1 solution would obviously be to have 2 pages on the 2 separate domains But I am trying to avoid buying 2 domains for this project.

Cheers in advance for the help.

Hi there...there's a way to do it that requires some programming. Unfortunately I am not a programmer so I cannot be more specific.

All I know is this site here: ASK Database - The Worlds First Search Engine for Surveys does what you're talking about. Their squeeze and sales page is on the same domain...just the pages are named different. So it's not necessary to have 2 domains.

I would hire someone off the freelance sites, say you want your squeeze page/sales page to operate in said manner, and give them that site as an example.

It shouldn't be a hard tweak. However I did notice the pages are PHP...not sure if that has something to do with it (again not a programmer).

Perhaps someone who IS a programmer can jump in!

yes, i am not a programmer either, but you can redirect users based on cookies.

so you would set a cookie on your sales letter (2nd page) and the index page would look for that cookie and if present automatically redirect the user away from the index page and to the sales letter when they visit the second time.

that way anyone who visits page 1 for the 1st time has to fill in the lead capture form, anyone who has already done that will have the cookie from page 2 and will go to page 2 automatically.

as a side note, a lot of people recommend putting a "by pass" link to allow people to by pass your squeeze page.

i am not the biggest fan of that method, but it is a very simple work around to allow people to by pass your squeeze page.

    You have two choices:
    1. Cookies
    2. Email (autoresponder)

Cookies will be stored once they visit your second page and you can use those to redirect them in the future. Emails will send them the link. There is no magic way for the buyers to find that page. Either the computer remembers who bought the product using cookies or they remember where the page is located by a link in their email.

      Smak,

Just a friendly tip - you should probably avoid such OTT headings as many potential helpers will be put off answering. Your question is no more "urgent" than any other.

My advice, for what it's worth, is to bite the bullet and get two domains. Having a separate sales page gives you more flexibility, IMO.
