Is There A Way Of Researching Amazon For Hot Categories?

Greetings fellow warriors

I am looking at getting into Amazon Associates as a way of making money online. I have looked at the make money online niche and it looks way too competitive.

Amazon was recommended as a way of making money online in less competitive niches, however amazon has a vast majority of niches to get into

I was wondering if any warriors know of a way of filtering amazon niches to find ones that are as good place to start...

reply to the thread or PM me any ideas

thanks warriors..

If you want to see what the best sellers are for each category just head to each category and then click on best sellers and you will have exactly what you are looking for.

Also on the top right hand side SORT BY you can choose best selling from the drop down menu, it normally shows relevance as the default result, just click on it and choose Best Selling which will then list the best selling in that category

I will just add that pick those ones that are not going to disappear in a weeks time.

I like the best sellers with 100's of reviews. Obviously more positive than negative.

Amazon itself gives you an idea how hard THEY'RE pushing the sale. Is there a comprehensive overview with features of the product, is there a video and so on.

I also like to have a quick check at the Google keyword tool... just to get an idea how many visitors I might get relative to another keyword for a place in Google's #10

Unless you are using more advanced marketing techniques, it will be difficult to sell in the "hot" categories profitably. To begin, I would suggest driving traffic with easy to rank keywords. You get commission no matter what is purchased, and Amazon does have a very good conversion algorithm.

You will find that the so called "hot categories" tend to be very competitive. Let me suggest that you start with some of the categories that aren't so competitive. I talk about this in my other post:

I even threw in a tip in one of my follow up posts so that you can start looking at what I consider to be HOT categories!

Just in case you're not aware, Amazon.co.uk place a £7 cap on each product you sell.

For example, if you sell an item which costs £300, you will only get £7 commission for the sale.

    Hey,

I always search for product by 'Bestseller'.

This normally indicates that the product is hot/popular.

    Hope that helps,
