Hi all,

I would like some advice on what exactly the settings do in webmaster tools PLEASE?

I have always had all of my sites set to unlisted in the webmaster tools settings and have been getting traffic from all over the world. The country with the most searches for that keyword will usually end up being the country where the traffic comes from. However I have noticed that the adsense ads will also reflect that. so for example one of my sites gets most of its traffic from India where the adsense ads cpc is very low. So my question is this: If I change the settings to the united states, will this affect the traffic from india by resulting in the serps going down? and will it also mean the ads will get a higher cpc as they will now be targeted at the us instead of india? Last time I checked the cpc was approx $2.00 in united states and only .12cents in India, so you can see why I want to change the targeted traffic. However the the number of monthly searches for that keyword is much higher in india as it is in the us but I figure the difference in adsense cpc will make up for that.

Another site that is set to unlisted has an equal amount of traffic coming from 3 different countries, but the cpc for adsense varies considerably in each country. so if I change the geo setting to the country with the highest adsense cpc, will that result in the other two countries being lowered in serps?

So is this the way the geo setting in webmaster tools works? Or am I better to leave the settings on unlisted?

One last question. there is google.co.uk for the uk and google.co.nz for new zealand but what is the google for the united states? I thought google.com was for all countries?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated?

THANKS
