Anyone Know How To Tweak Dan Grossmans WPRS Theme?

I'm using Dan Grossmans WPRS (Wordpress Review Site) Theme for a few sites and need to make some changes to it. He hasn't responded to my emails for a while and that is why I'm asking here.

1) Using his WPRS theme, does anyone know how I can make posts that will NOT include the built-in review site stuff like the star ratings, etc.? Besides product reviews, I want to make "normal" non-review posts on these sites.

2) Again, using his WPRS theme, does anyone know how I can add a header image to it?

Dan seems to have disappeared the last few weeks as several emails to him have gone unanswered. Anyone willing to tackle my questions above please?
