Is there a blog widget?

Hi all,
If you've got a static, html site there are codes to add dynamic elements to the site. For example, you've got the amazon widget that you can put on a static site that will change products around. If you put adsense on your site it will put ads there that change frequently.

What I'm wondering is, is there a blog widget where you can place some code in the body of an html page and it will turn that page into a blog where you can create new posts and essentially have the functionality of a blog inside of a static site?

Thanks.

I have a desktop program that pretty much does exactly that called Commentz. It allows you to let people add comments to html pages, create new html pages, makes an RSS pheed from the content, etc.

The main benefit is you have much of the ease of a dynamic blog, but since each page is a "static" html page, you can edit each page individually. This lets you do SEO on a page by page basis and gives you a lot more control of each page.

How do I find out about Commentz? I googled it and came up with weird stuff.

hmm BUT that really depends on his/her knowledge that how he/she can work on the tool, because html is not that easy as other cms's where just you can get things done for just a click, for sure HTML is one of the easiest language but still need to have some basic knowledge towards it.

      thanks

If you use the supplied templates along with a "bot" I created, you don't need to know a bit of HTML. You only need to know HTML if you want to modify my templates or use your own templates, which is the case pretty much for all html pages.

I agree, HTML isn't for everyone. But those that do know it shouldn't be limited to blogs and CMS if they don't want to.

However, please reread the original post on this thread. Ty asked for a way to work with HTML pages and I responded directly to his question.

Here's an old WSO I've since closed that describes Commentz. If you're interested, PM me and I'll send you details about about the current WSO. I don't want to post direct links to my WSO here.

Again, I've posted this link since it only contains info and no order link:
