Please help me find the right path...

Hi there,

I started to work on the Internet since November 2010. The problem is, I can't decide which niche to work. I've tried weight loss, weight gain, man boobs, dog training, belly fat, chest muscle building at home, affiliate marketing, make money online, clickbank niches. So I lost a lot of time learning about each niche. I know it's stupid but I can't find the answer.

But one thing I know I love cars. I have no idea whether this niche can make any money online.

    It sounds to me like you have jumped into a lot of the highly competetive niches straight away. You can succeed doing this, but it'll take a lot more work. It would likely be a better idea for you to choose a less popular niche for your first attempt.

      You could enter the car gaming niche (need for speed, forza, etc)..Since cars are your passion anyways and car gaming is getting quite popular online..Give it a try!

        This is a great idea, this is what you are interested in and there would be 100s of subniches within the car niche for you to explore. You could look into niche affiliate marketing with your main as cars and go from there.

    5 Basic Steps you can simply use to start off with then you can learn more techniques as you grow. Just keep it simple and don't rush it all.

    1- Do a research about automobile affiliate programs on Google
    2- Do a keyword for the new car model and look for strength of competition I recommend TRAFFIC TRAVIS to help with this to give you a clear indication it's free to use.
    3 - Do a sniper site that only focuses on a new car that entered the market recently
    4 - Create an article that focuses on the niche keyword you are trying to rank for and use variation of those same keywords for semantic indexing keywords to avoid keyword stuffing. And you should only use 2% of the main keyword every 100 sentences or so.
    5- Create a press release for that new car model if you don't how to write, hire someone at fiverr.com to do that for you and then submit it to press release sites. Then create bookmark for the press release sites url to your bookmarking profile pages then ping them.

      Hey new market,

      Try creating sites based on products.

      Not broad products but a particular product -> see amazon

      The more specialised your site the better your conversions.

      Give the searchers what they want!

      There is too much COMPETITION in those niche you mention to get any fast results.

      This is basically the outline for any niche. You have to start in a tightly focused niche to learn what works for you and what doesn't work for you. The more narrow the niche, the easier it is to see what works.

      I think there's a lot of opportunity in the health and fitness niche. You might pick the typical "fat loss 4 idiots" product, but, market it to a very focused niche rather than the "weight loss" niche in general.

      for instance, weight loss for beach body-->weight loss for beach body after pregnancy, or -->weight loss for beach body Caribbean cruise , or even --> weight loss for beach body men looking for men!

      Narrow the focus and stick with one topic for a while

    1. I think the niches you tried FIRST in your marketing career are too competitive. Have EVER seen ANY success online at all?? This would be crucial...gain some experience in easy niches first before tackling niches where you will be going head-to-head with large companies and other experienced marketers.

    2. It may not be your niche thats the problem...maybe its your method? How are you driving traffic to these niches? How do you go about promoting these niches? How do you do keyword research? All this plays a vital role in how successful you are going to be

    In my opinion, get started with something easy in a method/technique thats proven to work. Test and tweak your technique till you got it perfect, then slowly move onto more difficult niches..

    You've got to pick one, research your keywords well, and stick with it!

    With the economy in the dumpster and no major relief in sight until 2013 or even longer, people are going to have to keep their cars longer than they would like. They're also going to have to take better care of them than they have been. That opens up a LOT of territory for car niches!

    There are even more niches that aren't artificially restricted by politics and economics. Many of us love the creature comforts, others are more into performance and utilitarian concepts - like cars that also double as boats or airplanes.

    Take your pick! It's wide open! But do your research if you expect it to monetize well!

    I've had that same problem. Not sure exactly what I want to focus on either, and I seem to gravitate to the same niches. I think the cars niche is great. You can focus on things for people who restore cars, collect cars, car shows, etc. The options are endless. Good luck and let us know what you ultimately decide!!!

    Between November 2010 and now is 9 months, and you have tried about 7 niches, can you see the problem?

    My simple advise to newbies is to stick to a niche at least for 6 months, once you do the due diligence and sure that it's profitable niche.

    Do you have test data? How do you decide a niche is not profitable before you move to something else? All the niches you have tried are multi-million dollars industries, but only if you are ready to work hard. Good luck.

    If you love cars, you can become an expert on that. You have information that you can share in the form of e-books and reports so sell that. Get into a relevant forum and also start a face book fan page. Twit about it and send people to an opt in page everytime so that you build your subscribers. I read about someone who sold car manuals. Now I don't know what that is about but you could check it out. Basically, sell information about cars and even build a review site for car accessories and have your afffiliate links. You are sitting on your own little gold mine so start digging.

      When I saw the title I intended to suggest to take on the niche you are really
      interested and passionate about, without thinking about the money much.

      You said yourself, you love cars - you should pursue that, as others pointed out
      there are hundreds of sub-niches about cars, one that comes to mind is basic
      car repairs, I've always wanted to learn how to do small fixes on my car and
      not to go to the mechanic for every small thing.

    My advice to you is:

    Pick one niche that you believe in and stick with it. Be determined and follow through and don't give up. You can choose from a wide variety of niches but the most important thing is to stick with your idea and follow through.

    1. Keep learning and build your skills.
    2. Get help and ask questions.
    3. Take action and apply your training.

    The easy answer is yes of course! There are a lot of people who are enthusiastic about cars and like to read all about them. However there is also a lot of competition from car manufacturers and the like. So find a niche related to cars which you are passionate and knowledgeable about. Perhaps you know all about supercharging a VW engine with cost effective parts? That might be a niche which has a lot of interest and search volume but little competition. You have to think of some niches and then do your homework concerning search volume and competition.

    It is good to have a niche that you are passionate about as long as their are profits to be made. Your passion will help you through the tough times when you feel like giving up.

    I also agree with NickWatson. It could be your method of how you are tackling the niche.

    If its money to be made then low competition or high competition does not matter. A great offer along with great marketing will always prevail.

    Go back and dig a little deeper to find out why/where you failed in those previous niches. There you will find a lot of lessons and clues to how you can succeed in a niche you are passionate about.
