Best methods of starting an infomarketing business from scratch

In his new book on infomarketing (The Official Get Rich Guide to Information Marketing, 2nd edition), Robert Skrob recommend the following methods for someone who is starting an information marketing business from nothing:

1. Teleseminars
2. Live seminar
3. Survey by mail
4. Joint ventures

Did you get your infomarketing business off the ground using a different method or methods? If so, please tell.

Thanks!

Nowadays webinars are very popular. If you can get a JV deal with a respected figure in your niche and do a webinar with them to promote your product, you can see success very quickly.

Of course, it's not always easy to find someone willing, but if you have a good product you shouldn't have too hard of a time.

I didn't use webinars when I first started as they weren't even possible (56k days), but they're definitely a goldmine when done correctly.

Info marketing is the selling of information - whether it be e-books, videos, membership sites etc.

Affiliate marketing is just making commission when you sell someone elses product, whether it be an info product, physical product or whatever.

Start building a list, because that's where the real cake is.
If you can build a list of targeted prospects, you have the power to create a personal ATM.

Create your own e-book using high quality PLR materials. There are tons and tons of high quality PLR store to choose from and many many niches to dive into.

Rewrite and revamp them and put your voice in it through research. (add more value to the already high quality PLR)

Next is get them new graphics and NEW site. Upload them to Clickbank and get affiliates and super affiliates to help you promote them. Always put aside a couple of hours per day every week to search for affiliates and JV partners.

By doing this, in the long run you will be building your own list of subscribers that you can promote more products according to their needs.

Hi Marcia... I have to respectfully dispute Robert on this one.

Those methods are do-able if you've already got an audience. But what about the absolute beginners who are just starting out in a niche?

From personal experience, I'd say blogging is the best choice for launching an infoproduct business.

        1) Post analytics/comments can help you determine which articles are most popular. These popular posts can become infoproduct topics.

        2) Blogging can help you establish credibility/authority.

        3) They can attract links from other bloggers within the niche. And because blogs are updated on a regular basis, they automatically prompt return visits.

        4) They're search engine friendly (provided your content is well written).

        5) And when you do have an audience, they can serve as a launch pad for your infoproduct.

To me, no other method can compare to the benefits that blogging provides. But that's just my humble opinion.
