Residual affiliate programs?

Was wondering if there are any good RESIDUAL type affiliate programs out there. Virtually all the CB and CJ programs I have seen offer a one time only type of commission. Anyone offer residual income month after month?

No, residual is when you get a fixed amount each month without doing any promotion.
You earn a commission as long as the costumer stays with the company.

There are also some recurring billing products on CB such as Maverick Money Makers.

Well to get residual commissions you must promote membership sites and stuff like that, products that charge a fixed amount each month.

You might have to look at individual programs for residuals. For example, a number of membership sites offer 50% of the monthly fee (think SEnukeX, etc), but they're all individual programs and not linked to any affiliate network.

Alright let me really really help you out

Go to Affiliate programs with lifetime commissions or residual commissions for life. As thier name suggests, they specialise in residual income.

You can also try out affiliateseeker.com, affiliatescout.com and affiliateprograms.com and seek out their residual program offers or 2 tier offers.

    I believe this will help.

Please excuse the observation that you haven't looked very hard, Teri.

ClickBank alone currently has 2,181 different products listed in the Marketplace offering recurring commissions, and it's possible to search (for whatever parameters you choose) among only those products, too.

It depends what niche you are in. I am in the IM niche, and there are a number of programs (2) that I promote on CB that pay residual income. Whether or not I get residual income vs. a one-time payment from them depends on if the customer purchases specific up-sells.

I also promote two other products in the IM niche. One is on InfusionSoft, which pays me via Paypal, and the 4th one is an independent affiliate network that pays me via Paypal as well. I earn a monthly commission from these for as long as the customer stays with the program. The customers usually stay for 6 months before they cancel.

Hosting companies often offer affiliate commissions that are based on renewals so that might be a good fit for you. You'd need to check if it is one-time or ongoing.

I am very interested in finding a good list of these that would be great for small businesses if anyone ever finds it.

I have hosting, email provider and some domain companies but that is the extent of it.

There are 3 types of residual commissions:
    1. Automatic recurring commissions
    2. Lifetime commissions
    3. Second tier commissions

Automatic recurring commissions are those typically from membership websites and cloud software that bill customers every month. You receive a % of each month a referral pays.

Lifetime commissions are those where your referrals earn you commissions as long as referrals buy products into the future. It's not required with the merchant, but if they buy again, you get paid. A common industry with this structure is supplements. Some non-supplement merchants with multiple products in funnel offer lifetime commissions so you get paid for all future purchases.

Second tier commissions is when you earn commissions on affiliates you refer who generate sales.

I do promote both automatic recurring commissions (cloud software) and lifetime commissions. I like the automatic recurring commissions the best because it really does add up and is truly passive as long as you generate more sales each month than the churn rate.

There are many opportunities ... you just have to look. If you have a successful website/responsive email list of decent size, you can often negotiate excellent commission deals with many merchants. Just be sure you can generate sales if you trouble merchants about making a deal.

You're asking the right question, so let me give you some good advice.

Software sells better and retains people longer. The average span of someone who signs up to a monthly membership for an information based product is just 3 months. Sure, some stay longer... yada yada yada... but the average for most is 3 months.

That means your residuals get cut!

But software will have people that use it for YEARS and never even consider losing it because it becomes a part of what they do and they rely upon it.

So take a look at what niche you're in (you never mentioned it) and then take a look at what type of software people NEED to do in that niche. Or what type of software can help them do something faster, easier or better.

That's the money maker, software with residuals.

You could start off with webhosting affiliate programs. Or you could become an affiliate for a membership site offer. Or... venture into the *adult* arena and become an affiliate for them. (Sells well by the way). Any chance of you making your wish come true and create your own residual income product?
