Is there money in building on a "What-is" domain?

For example, "What-is-___-___" when the topic has over 1 mil searches per month. I assume with some decent SEO it would land on the first page simply by the domain name. Anyone ever do this?

Sounds like a pretty cold buyer term, "Where to get", "How much is" would intercept more people on the buying trail, which translates to more ad clicks.

Thank you for the help. Could you rephrase? You mean you think "Where to get" and "How much is" would be better?

Exactly, those terms are people that know what they are looking for and are genuinely interested in purchasing it.

While "What-Is- adl-ald" is someone that has no idea what your selling, much less if they even want it.

Yes most people who search that term are expecting a free service like Wikipedia.

You can kind of tell how they are as a term by the ad competition and CPC on Google. What Is ____ typically isn't as bad as ___ Definition but is similar in that typically you'll get traffic looking for that information quickly just to know and nothing else. Usually those just aren't high money terms.
