How to setup the squeeze page,

Hello,

I really would like some good advice about working with a squeeze page. In the many different courses I have seen as many different way to put the squeeze page online.

What I should do now is to create a blog from which the homepage is the squeeze page. So this squeeze page is visible in the search engines. I have also seen in courses they keep the squeeze page out of the search engines.

The I want to FTP upload the Free video that I offer on the squeeze page.

In this video I offer an E-book for $17. I also FTP upload this E-book, but I don't want this E-book be found in the search engines. I think I can do this the best way in the Robots.txt file, but I am not sure.
If so, where and what do I have to change in the Robots.txt file?

I am struggling around this topic, so I hope you can give me your advice here.

Your help is really very welcome.

You're right, Google aren't too fond of squeeze pages so I'd rather not put it on my home page if I were you, rather a subdomain.yourhomepage.com

As for finding your ebook in the results, just add a "noindex" attribute to your download page if you don't have a password protection software.

I'm sure there's better advice out there but this is the easiest way to do it

Guys, please excuse my asking, but are you confusing "squeeze page" with "sales page" here, in the posts above? There is such a thing as a video squeeze-page, of course, but I think you're actually talking about a sales page?

A "squeeze-page" is a page with a prominently inventivised opt-in and no other content.

A video squeeze page is a simple short page with a video, a small amount of text, a few bullet points and a sign up form. The main aim is for people to watch the video, read a few of the points and sign up to your list. Video has been found to be quite effective because of our attention spans are getting shorter and video can hold attention. These days many users have broadband which makes them more popular. Lately there is some discussion regarding their effectiveness but I still like them.
