Is this type of plug-in a good idea?

so I'm working on my first affiliate site, it's not up yet, and I come across this plug-in ( it's an up-sell to something I actually bought,) saying that it would monetize the words in my copy with my affiliate links.

For example you click on the word and it takes you to the affiliate. Would a plug-in like that be worth it, or do those type of really subtle ways of advertising not work? Or in violation of some rule?

Sorry if my questions seem simplistic, I'm new to IM. ( I'm really a web writer. Since I love to write about pretty much anything, I figured affiliates sites might be the way to go.)

My advice to is everyone is, when you're first starting out, you should only buy two things: a URL and hosting. I wouldn't pay for anything after that until you're bringing in money.

Not really a violation of any rules. Intellilinks and Kontera do that. I would probably buy a plugin like that if I did any real affiliate marketing. I think text links are often more effective than banner ads.
