100% Commission to build buyers list with JV's or lower commission and more work?

I have also heard that that promotional JV's with someone else's email list is the fastest and best way to "harvest" a very big email list of buyers that converts. (i.e. the most possible quality email list). I am now tempted, as advised by another on this forum, to offer 100% commissions to people who will promote or do JV's with my product.

I have learned that recruiting JV partners (especially big ones) is very difficult and I have read a lot of good strategies to attract them, even though the number of "Yes's" I receive will be very low percentage even though commissions are very high. So below I combined a lot of the strategies I saw from many articles online, which I think might work to get affiliates/JV's
easier.

1) Compliment the website owner
2) offer very very high commissions, even 100%
3) make the commissions transfer instantly
4) give them free copy of product to show credibility
5) Describe why product has value
6) Try to convince them the product will help (or just not hurt) their credibility.
7) Be honest about who I am and my intentions
8) Target people within the niche who have smaller lists
9) Make selling for them easily by having banners and such (which I already have made)

Everyone says to develop a "relationship" with the JV partner or to do things for them or go to trade shows to get good partners. I obviously am not interested in trade shows at this point, since I don't even have a list and am going to college in rural missouri. So the whole "Finding a JV" thing seems really really competitive and hard. Like a lot harder than all the articles online seem to make it.

So my current thinking goes something like this: Perhaps I should do 100% commission JV's contacting and targeting medium/small blogs to promote with, without making any money. The plan would be to do this A LOT so that I get a really big list of buyers (who would opt in after purchase), sort of starting ground up with smaller/medium bloggers and 100% commissions to make it faster. Then, develop more products or a complementary ebook every month and sell it to the list.

I am not sure I should completely forfeit the profits on the first ebook though (even though i keep suggesting it to myself). I have heard the writer at Ittybiz and another blog series writer talk about how ebooks are really lucrative and they write about the affiliate finding/selection process, but I had no idea it would be this hard or that I would have to offer higher commissions than they recommended (50%) and that actually convincing someone to affiliate for my product/finding affiliates is really hard. Heck, i thought the researching and writing part was hard. Now I am second guessing that and wondering if the marketing part is gonna be the hardest of all.

So at this point I am down with an actual business (instead of just selling an ebook) and may even be willing to forgoe any money the first time to get JV partners and email list built that I can market to in the future. Idk perhaps my plans for quicker dominance in the market by forgoing profits early on won't pan out as well. I am not sure. Is this a good idea??? Perhaps this is biting off more than I can (or should) chew?

P.S. Just emailed my only potentially serious competition to do joint venture who informed me that they are releasing a product the same as mine this fall so they couldn't help. They were nice about it though. I am kind of concerned as well because the competition wasn't bad at all until I heard about this!

Stop thinking so much and get going on this!

You can offer 100% commissions to JV partners AND sell the product through your own promotional efforts. Just do both. You'll be building up a big buyers list.
