Hay,
I'm new in IM. When I look for products to promote, or thinking about making my own info-product there is something that confuses me.
I read the rules in C. bank that testimonials have to be true, and that vendor shouldn't lie about quantity: There R only ** cpies, or in xx/xx/xx I won't be selling it any more.
But I see allot of popular products with all those thinks on their landing page, so or that CB and the laws at general don't really care and to get ahead one can put as much testimonials as he wants, or I don't know what is going on in here.
For example, if I want to promote some product, can I take the testimonials from the vendor page?
And if I create new product, how do I get testimonials?
Thanks

Most people get their first testimonials from people they have encountered on the internet. You will need to network and find a few people that are willing to review your product and give you an honest testimonial. I usually get one or two testimonial requests per week.

As a new seller, you would have a hard time getting any of that past CB. A vendor that has been with CB for years will probably be over looked for the time being.

A lot of companies and people will give a testimonial after haing a great product or serice from you, this will help others who read them make a decision to buy from you.

I would not use fake ones though, that goes against the principal of a testimonial.

They just recently tightened up the guidelines, these are probably enforced during new sit reviews but they might be lax about forcing existing products to change their sales page.

Ultimately these rules are just intended to help you and clickbank conform to a higher force's guide lines, those laid out by the FTC.

Clickbank for one are falling into line and their new updated policy include the banning of false testimonials and false scarcity amongst other things. This extends beyond vendor pages and includes affiliate sites.

Updated Promotional Guidelines: As of August 1, 2011, all ClickBank clients are required to comply with our updated Promotional Messaging Guidelines (Product Promotion Guidelines). All new products are immediately subject to these guidelines, and existing promotional materials such as Pitch Pages and affiliate sites must be brought into compliance by August 31, 2011 or may be subject to penalties including account termination.

Has anyone noticed this in the new policy:

"Also, affiliates cannot pose as neutral third parties evaluating two products so they make a commission on selling one of them."

Looks like review style sites will be out as well.

If you are looking to get testimonials for your product, I would suggest have a few people test it out for free in return for their testimonial.

Getting honest, legitimate testimonials is not difficult to do at all.

Just put the word out that you are offering a free copy of your product for an honest testimonial in return. I assure you, you'll get lots of requests.
