do not get side tracked with too much I.M.

Look I know this is an I.M forum. I am not here to knock it all. BUT I do see many people on here and many newbies who seem to get so sidetracked with the whole Int. Marketing thing they forget about business side of things. (more important)

Maybe it's best to outsource the Int. Mark. aspect of your biz and focus on products/niches/edges/ Joint ventures/growth opportunities? Instead of how to get more facebook likes or backlinks?

I do not think the big money is made from micro managing your marketing aspect of your biz.... Are you actually running a biz or just doing some Interent Makrteting? There is a big difference.

Maybe sometimes (me included) need to step back form the trees and see the woods?

I presonally think that outsorcing certain tasks can be too expensive for beginers, but I completely agree with what you say about forgetting (or not forgetting) the business side of the thing.

IM is a business, not a hobby. It requires gathering data, analyzing numbers, making decisions, etc... So we need to work and think as businessmen in order to succeed.

Very well said If you treat your business like a hobby you will make hobby money. If you treat it serious like any business should be treated then the sky is the limit.

Turn off all distractions and make yourself a to-do list for the day. When your done your reward can be the distractions lol everyone needs a reward to keep us motivated!

You're right you will get information overload very quickly and get side tracked. The keyword is "ACTION". If you don't action you won't succeed. Write down a list of what you need to accomplish that day or evening and stick to it. Don't get side tracked. The only thing you are going to accomplish by not doing this is failure.

Very good advice. I think that was my problem when I first started. I kept getting sidetracked with "doing the business" instead of "running the business." I think this is something that needs to be learned as time goes on.

Couldn't agree more. It's sometimes easier said than done, though. Especially when you are subscribed to so many lists (as a lot of newer people are) and have all of these lists shoving shiny objects down your throat.

Take a step back, breathe, and take action.

Your OP fits right in with the E Myth. You do it all until you can "hire" others to replace you one thing at a time.

Great advice! It's really easy to get sidetracked in this business. I'm guilty of it myself.
