Would You Unsubcribe ? - List For Around 2 Years

Hey Warriors,
I'm just after your thoughts on something....... I have been on a certain IM'ers list for around 18 months - 2 years. Their products ( the one's I have purchased anyway ) have been excellent, newsletters, content and blog posts were also fairly frequent and to a high standard in the beginning.
But up until about 6 months ago, all I have had in my mailbox is pitch after pitch.

Granted you could argue that it would be wise to learn from this markateer, their emails and see how they make the sale, but for me it is becoming a bit tiresome. Coupled with the fact that there has been around half a douzen emails in the past 6 months which actually had some content to speak of, or linked to content like some sort of blog post, is a tad annoying to.

I cant help think that there must be a reason for the apparent turn-around in email styles.
The markateer is smart, surely they are making more for their time and per email blast or blog post when it is selling a product, or they wouldnt be doing it?
But whatever happened to list raport and readership ?

For me if you feel that by buying the stuff recommended doesn't make your business better, you can consider unsubscribe.

But if you are doing a better business now, because of his many recommendations, then I would say it is worth to stay on the list.

If you feel there are other marketers whos list you would benefit or learn more from then by all means I'm sure you did the right thing.

You can also just stay on lists to continue to see the overall market trends and marketing style and ignore any offers.

It comes down to you and how much time you allocate to your daily activities.

I've started the new year unsubscribing from every list that sends me a pitch as opposed to an update. I joined many lists as a result of Warrior Special Offers that are touted as update lists and "will only be used to notify you of updates", only to be bombarded with pitches. Good thing about aweber is you can leave a comment when unsubscribing, which I do very eloquently ;-)

    Regards

Yeh, I've noticed this a lot recently too. I like to refrain from leaving comments when I unsubscribe from this kind of tactic, just to leave them wondering. Why would I help them?

      Hi Brian,

I would be wondering if they had either sold their list, or if they had decided that sending helpful content wasn't working for them, therefore they were trying a different tactic. Either way, I wouldn't be reading their emails anymore

    Ask yourself these questions...

Why did you join the list?

    What are your goals now?

Do you find any value you in the newsletter?

Do you find the product recommendations useful?

Do you find the pitches themselves useful for learning purposes?

Are you getting to the point where you're just deleting it without even reading it?

Does being on the list advance your business goals?

Bottom line: If you answer "no" to the last question, then unsubscribe. If you find some value in it, then stay.

It sort of sounds like you've spent the last few months on the list without getting what you wanted out of the list. Perhaps you're staying on because you feel like you might miss something?

Chances are, you won't miss a thing.

Most of the good stuff in IM is posted right here on this forum. And if this marketer suddenly writes an amazing newsletter or releases a revolutionary product, you'll hear about that here too.

    Cheers,
    Becky
