Email Mktg w/out Being Labeled A Spammer

Can anyone give me some advice about how to send emails to prospects that haven't opted in to receive mail from me? I'm not trying to send more than even 10 per hour, but hotmail and yahoo have already started sending my mail to spam.

I have bought a few WSO's for offline consulting, and they all give great advice for crafting emails and interacting with the prospects, but no one mentions the art of making sure those emails actually get thru.

Any feedback/advice would be helpful.

Thanks!

Robin

    There is no art Robin,
even people that sign with link verification forget their subscription and report your email as spam if the subject is not so interesting or for any other reason they believe you invade their rights.

I can't be 100% sure about this but...

I thought unsolicited email ='s Spam...

Build a squeeze page, you wouldn't have this problem with opt-ins...

She's actually trying to contact potential prospects directly, not trying to drive leads to her website as they may not even be searching for the service being offered here. I don't see any harm in this as I assume these emails would be going out to other businesses so its not like the usual spam blasts targeting individuals.

Robin, you should test your headlines and then see what works best. Look at some of the headlines you receive in your inbox and gleam ideas from that.

This is not necessarily true, but it is a common misconception. At least in the United States as long as you follow the CAN SPAM rules you can send unsolicited emails. You do have to provide a way to opt-out of the emails and you must include a mailing address. Most internet marketers stay away from this type of email for obvious reasons, but it is not truly spam in the legal sense.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know that low a rate would get you in trouble.

I know just a certain volume will get you flagged, but I also hear that spammy sounding content will also trigger their automated filters, get rich, free, and other hype terms might increase chances of getting blocked, html emails tend to get filtered out more than plain text.

If you have general demographics in mind and not just a short list. You can pay owners of mailing lists to send out solo ads for you.

NextMark has lots of postal and email lists, by the way postal mail doesn't have the restrictions that email suffers.

Some solo ad sources are mentioned in the post
