Need Help on Building a list of subscribers for my Ezine!

Hi there, I am quite new to internet marketing. However, I just wanted to make a monthly Ezine on health based articles in my blog. I am planning to get 50 subscribers before I start, so my question is:

What should I do to build a list?
-So far I only know that an autoresponder can be useful.

If so what kind of autoresponders should I get?
-I was hoping if anyone can suggest me a free autoresponder?

My way of promoting is that I am going to use just a simple subscribe button with a little intro and the benefits of the Free Ezine. Once that guy subscribes and give me his email, he is counted as a subscriber and I send him issues before this if he hasn't got them in my first message and after that, just send him a monthly issue every month. Quite simple. Tell me what you guys think and answer my questions please!

Well, at least you already know the most important thing, then.

The normal way to do this is to drive targeted traffic to a squeeze page, offering something like a free report (on a subject relevant to the niche) as the incentive for people to opt in to receive the ezine.

A good one.

Aweber's widely recommended (including by me). It costs $1 for the first month and then $19 per month after that. This give you 2 months to make $20. And if you don't make $20 in two months, you don't have a business at all.

Stay away from free ones!

If they do, personally I would take no notice of them about that (and maybe about other subjects too, just in case their advice on other subjects is equally valid and reliable). Nobody "needs" a free autoresponder.

You may manage it this way.

I think it'll be much easier if you can come up with a "free e-book" to give away, as well.

I do think it can be a really good thing to do, in internet marketing. For quite a variety of reasons and subsequent opportunities. You need to take care over legal/ethical disclaimers, of course, and make it clear to people that you're not giving "medical advice". Good luck!

iContact is free up to 500 subscribers. And definitely not that bad, love their interface! :-)

  A potential downside to iContact is that they impose through their Terms of Service a monthly sending cap that's 6 times (I think?) your account's maximum subscriber/contact limit.
  
  So if you're sending with any real frequency, you may well be forced to upgrade to the next pricing level somewhat more prematurely with iContact than with AWeber, GetResponse or others that allow "unlimited" sending.
  
  They do encourage you to contact them if you require that to be raised/lifted, so the facility is certainly there, but whether (or, indeed, how much) they charge for the privilege, I just don't know.
  
  Just saying, in case this would be a problem for the OP.

  In addition to Michael's most relevant comment above, there may be another big drawback with iContact, too: as discussed in this thread. I haven't used their service or verified that information for myself, but if it's accurate, it would certainly exclude that autoresponder completely from my own plans.

  Lets just say I don't use an autoresponder. Is there any other possible way? Like a manual technique (lots of work, I guess ) or something free? I will consider getting an autoresponder though, I am just listing out all my options at the moment.

  There are far more downsides to manual techniques than using any autoresponder. Your ISP limits the number of allowable messages per hour, and soon you will notice degrading deliverability. Your best option really is to choose a commercial autoresponder at the onset.

  Keep considering it until you decide to do it: it will be very difficult indeed (if possible at all) to bring the plan to fruition at all, let alone to make any income from it, without one. There's little point in thinking about the other aspects of what you're planning to do without taking care of this fundamental issue first. It's just not a realistic option in any way to build an ezine without some sort of autoresponder. As explained in some detail in the post linked to above (about "free autoresponders"), this is one of the very few things in internet marketing that you really do have to get right the first time, because mistakes in this context are really terribly difficult to correct afterwards, and there's always considerable opportunity-cost (if not other costs) involved in trying to do so.

You can the 50 subscribers in 3 days EASY !!!! if you just invest in solo ads in your health and fitness niche you could get over 200 subscribers in 3 days if you order 1000 super targeted clicks and have a well converting squeeze page of about 30%

There are other ways to build .Check out my sig. It may help you

Thanks for all your opinions, by the way, I got another question. Can autoresponders be obtained in shops. For instance, is there shops where I can walk in like a typical software selling retail shop and just purchase a autoresponder just like that? Instead of having to buy online?
