Should i get myself into this ?

Hi everyone,

I am considering creating a new website for selling E-Books and I would like to know your opinion about that.

As a beginning, I would say that I used to have a partial marketplace for ebooks with master re-seller rights on one of my websites, it didn't do well at the time as I didn't focus my effort in promoting it as a marketplace in the first place.

I would like to hear your ideas, do you think there is a still good market for e-books, should I have it in a specific niche ? would you suggest to sell Master Reseller Rights E-Books or should I move on to a different type of E-Books ?

I used to use Virtue Mart with joomla, Any suggestion for a better E-Books selling. I would love to hear some.

    There is always a market for new, good quality, well written ebooks that bring something fresh to the market. If you are thinking of just pushing around the same thing everybody else is, out of date or retitled plr, I would forget it. If it did not work for you last time, why do you think it work for your this time?

    Thanks for your reply Green, the last time, Ebooks where more of a bonus, I used them to get into google products, my main target wasn't to make real money out of them as of getting links of google.

    The website i added the ebooks marketplace was for students who may as well weren't much interested in that type of ebooks.

    I am consider create a website for ebooks only where i will market the website as ebooks marketplace

      There is always an audience for even the dumbest of all offers. I would even disagree with retitled old rehashed ebooks IF and only IF you target brand new marketers. I mean let['s face it, in the circle of people that the smart folks on the Warrior Forum hang out with, not much is new but not everybody on the internet is a marketer that has already baught every ebook under the sun believe it or not.

      So the short answer is you just need to find the right audience for your ebooks and things like the Amazon Kindle and tablets are making ebooks popular again to a fresh market. The long answer is always make everything you do as uniquely your own as possible, it is YOUR reputation after all.

    So are you thinking of selling to end users or internet marketeers, who will sell your ebooks on? Another way to go is to offer your buyers, (after they have bought the book) affiliate commissions with links to the salespages of the books. If you use something like Smartdd, you can collect all the names of their buyers for your list.

    scott, I agree there is always a market but my concern is many people who buy these books are trying to give it for free. I already did find many books with re-seller rights online for free.

    if you know how to get for free, you will not be buying them. Should I keep away from Reseller Books ? and stuck to the digital one and be just an affiliated for the books authors.

    Green, this is one option is to use these books for reselling them to IMers and other ebook marketplaces.

      This is almost a funny statement because if you think about it, just about every little piece of information that has ever been compiled in a course, ebook or video series can be found for free with a google search....lol. THAT is the truth, it's all in the packaging of the info and the reputation of the seller.

    Try it all and see what works best! but why not work towards writing and publishing your own ebook/product. Do not limit yourself and make sure you get that list.

    Yes, in my own opinion there is still have market for ebooks, but everyone is selling ebooks with resell rights, if you want to stand out from others, you should get some unique ebooks to sell. Hire some writers to write for you if you can't write yourself.

    That is so true! Even the high street look how many gardening books there are/have been. How many ways is there to grow a plant in a pot?

    With a bit of planning you can write your own book quite easily.

    You have to write articles for content, so post these on your website/blog first and then on Ezinearticles.
    After they have been accepted there, rewrite and post on other article directories.

    Keep you articles on one theme and eventually you can combine them into short reports. When you have a dozen short reports combine them into a ebook.

    You can take this further and convert the ebook into videos and pod casts.

    Here's what you should do to make big money online. Use ebooks as lead products or front end products under $50 price range. This will get you front end buyers. At the backend I would recommend you to create high ticket packages in the form of audios, videos in the range of $500 to $1000. And finally here's where big money lies, that's coaching programs.
