Should we be worried about twitter phishing attempts

I noticed that a few days back, there were huge attempts to obtain passwords of twitter users and a couple of days later, obscure messages popped up on renowned twitter accounts like fox news.
So, is the twitter team ready to fight such attempts for the future or they'll crumble as myspace is?

      Twitter was phished and hacked. They were two separate incidents. For example, the Fox News account was hacked, not a phishing victim.

      Twitter took down their admin tools that opened the door for the hacker, and said they won't put them back up until they are sure it is safe. So it appears that they are doing what they can to fight off hackers.

      As for phishing, there's not a whole lot that can be done to prevent it. Twitter changed the passwords on accounts they knew to be affected to keep the phishers from continuing to use them. I think they also deleted at least some of the phishing DMs that were sent out to keep it from spreading.

      But, not falling victim to phishing is really an end-user responsibility. People need to learn what to look out for so they don't become victims. I think too many people just hope the problem will go away. It won't. I know one person that wasn't going to use Twitter for a few days because of it. But, phishing can happen anytime and anywhere someone can send you a message.
