Another newbie question!

Hey guys, I am in the process of creating my first squeeze page and I want to offer the reader a free eBook. I don't have one of my own but I have read in other peoples eBooks that it is okay to distribute and promote their eBook as long as the content isn't changed, or i don't take credit for it.

So questions is, Can i use someones eBook as a freebie for my squeeze page?

Thanks!

Sure you could... as long as you have right to do so.

That sounds like the terms for an affiliate link laden promotional ebook, you might be better off spending perhaps $10 on a PLR title that allows rebranding, even if the quality may be sub par.

Thanks, I would really like to have a product of my own to give out but I am a terrible writer. I know that I can pay someone to write something for me but I don't understand how to go about doing that. Do I hire someone, tell them the topic, and they are able to write something with just that? What do I need to provide so the person I hire can give me a quality product?

      Hey,
You know writing your own free report to give away isn't as hard as it sounds. Just open up a Word Document and start typing. Use font size 14 (easier to read and the pages go by faster! ).

When you are writing, write down everything that comes to mind! Don't worry about it sounding stupid. You are the only one that is going to see it in it's raw form.

If you know something about your niche, it should be a breeze. If you don't know much about it, spend a week and learn about it and then write down everything you learned. Again, write down everything. You can always work it into something coherent later. Run it buy a neutral 3rd party to see if it makes sense. Make any final changes, turn it into a PDF and you're good to go.

Remember, it doesn't need to be a novel. It can be a simple 5 page report.

      Hope that helps

Elance.com is a good place to look for freelance writers. The key to success with outsourcing is to be as specific and detailed as possible when you give instructions to the contractor. For optimal results, you should provide the ghostwriter with a title and outline for your ebook. Put yourself in the place of a subscriber and think what they'd like to read in your ebook, and why. That should point you in the right direction. Finally, PLR content is another way to go, but the quality varies... quite a bit.

I would just get some PLR and edit it a bit and use that. You can find some good cheap PLR all over the web. Or why not just make a video or audio product and give that away for free instead? Since you're not comfortable with writing...

    Hi CER,

Newbie here too...well you can purchase PLR and once you download it - you can do what you want with it. I just started writing PLR so I only have a few packs up and I've not written an e-book yet so I'm still on the learning curve as well.

Another idea is you can get reusable PLR products for free at a lot of places and when you opt - in to some lists you get free downloads- just be sure to read the fine print - I'd say start with something small like a 10 page report or something so you don't have to edit it too much.

What type of product are you looking for?

Just do a search on Google or other search engine and you will find a lot of options for PLR some as low as just a couple of dollars. Some are already ebooks and some are groups of articles that could be turned into an ebook and look more "original." Good luck!

    Hello CER,

Okay I know I am not exactly a newbie any more, but I am not war veteran either. What I would tell you is if you want to something written you should check out the warrior copy write forum here and see if anyone can give you some better advice.

First they will know what kind of reports are best. Second they will know what to charge a writer and last they will be able to tell you what information you will have to have to get what you want written.

If you are trying to get people to join your site or to check out what it is that you have to offer then value and good information and relationship building is key. New or not, if you start off giving great value people will love you for it. =D

I want to thank everyone all the info! I really appreciate it :]
I've done some thinking and I think it is time to come up with another plan. I originally wanted to do something in the IM niche but I think I need more knowledge and experience.

I am a musician, and I love to produce music but I don't know how to make money off that niche. I had an idea to create a webpage to help beginners get started with music production by sending them to helpful videos and eventually do some affiliate product reviews for instruments and software but the only thing stopping me is how am I suppose to write about the products if I do not own them myself?

I am definitely not giving up on this though, that is not an option. I just have to come up with a plan and work my butt off!

Another thing you can do is go to Google, and type in the search box.."Free PLR + Membership".

This will show you some results of free plr membership sites. Go ahead and join some of them. Don't pay for the upgrade. Just try out the free memberships. You can then login and search for the Niche subject that you want. Download some of the PLR that you like and be sure to read the rights file to see what you can do with it.

Thats it. You might be able to find what you need for free.

NO CER! (lol - sorry that was just too good to pass up the pun)

Don't quit yet. You're making it more complicated than it has to be. If you search for Guitar+PLR or Piano+PLR or Music+PLR you will find some options. Buy a few cheap PLR packs and look them over - you can use that as a script to create a quick video and give that as your freebie or you can take those articles and make them into a report to give away. PLR articles allow you to use as is, modify, or piece together and then put your name on it and sell it as your own.

You can go onto one of the freelance writing places to find a writer to do a cheap ebook - just give them the info and find one that has good stats.

Don't quit - do something. If you fail - you won't be worse off than you are right now, but you will have gained some knowledge for the next time. Consider this: If you were to set it up this week and fail, you would know what you need to find out - what kinds of questions you need to ask and most importantly you will know what doesn't work.

This will give you a base from which to launch the next week. If you don't get one opt-in for your business then you are no worse off than you are right now- but if you get one opt-in or 20 people on your list - then you are ahead of where you were this week and that is less work for you in the future!

Don't give up so easily! Be creative - you're a musician - use your skills - do a quick video on guitar chords or talk about insider musician information - show the organic process you use to write a song. All these are options and if you do something no one else is doing then you make it that much more valuable.

This is just my 2 cents, but I hope you don't give up.

I think its good to use high quality report that come with brandable rights with your affiliate links (pointing to the authors page with your aff link).

Marlon Sanders, Willie Crawford all allow their content to be republished with your affiliate link in it, which will point to their site still

    Thank you

As long as the owner tells you that the ebook can be redistributed, it's alright.
