Newbie Question About List Building & Sales Pages

Ive been doing reading on building squeeze pages/landing pages. I have some questions still that are kind of unclear. Im thinking about purchasing Optimizepress to build my landing pages. Heres where im unclear. Say i build a landing page around the general topic of weight loss. On my landing page i have an opt in for them to receive say a free ebook on weight loss. So if they opt in i now have their email address and they receive my ebook.

With this list do i just keep sending them other related weight loss offers? Like if i can find a cpa offer for weight loss pills do i just send this out to them in the email? Am i missing the purpose behind a landing page? Also, whats some good ways to draw people to my landing page? Is google adwords worth the money or facebook ads?

Building a list is an essential part of making money online.

Remember, the simple things in life work. 9/10 GURUS have a huge list, and that's their biggest secret, trust me.

In regard to how often to send offers? Don't send them 100% offers. Send them FREE, VALUABLE MATERIAL so you can build a relationship.

Remember the people on your list are breathing, thinking humans. They aren't dumb. If you offer them something of value (weight loss tips, motivation, healthy recipe ideas) you'll be able to toss them offers and your conversion will be better because they actually give a **** about you.

If you send them 100% affiliate links, their confidence in you will dwindle.

Good luck to you sir; build that list.

PS: I recommend squeeze plugin. (kickass, very simple & light, can implement with wordpress easily.)

    Rock on

Thanks for the tips, that is a great way to look at it. I own brick and mortar businesses now in fields that are highly competitive but keep my customers because of the service and value i provide them. How often would you say is good to send them an email with free stuff and with offers? Like send 1 free thing and 1 offer per month or even less then that?

I do a 2:1 or even 3:1 ratio. (Imagine having a 20,000 list, and you send an affiliate link once per month. That's bank, if the followers actually like you.)

So I'll provide 2-3 information messages, then I'll send an affiliate link promoting something.

But, just use your head. Offer value, and the money will follow.

Money follows creativity and valuable service.

    Hey Justin,

You have to decide why you made the landing page(squeeze page). Did you make it to sell affiliate products? Did you make it to sell your own products?

The reason you usually build a list is to sell stuff. But you just can't just keep hamering the people on your list with offer after offer trying to sell them stuff. The will just tune you out and UnSubcribe from your list. You have to give them some kind of free information or content about what their are interested in. You have to build a Relationship with them.

Marketers do this in a lot of ways; Some people make blog sites on their particular niche. Some people make free videos with information that people like.

All this is to get your vistors to "Know You, Like You, And Trust You." Then when you recommend a affiliate product that you are trying to sell, a lot of them will go and check out the offer. And some of them will Buy.

In list building, it's best if you pick a niche... and if you can cover 1 topic that would be good. Say you are going to concentrate on Weight Loss. Then you have to ask youself, if you are doing this to push some elses products. If you are then you have to give you vistors something of value when they come to you site.

I'm sorry I can't get into Google Adwords or Facebook marketing, because their is just to much information to cover. But for the moment I would stay away from any paid forms of marketing until you have a solid Blueprint or Mentor.

I would try sending more free ebooks/information then offers. So they know your not trying to get money real quick. Maybe a 4:2 ratio. Also you could try signing up with a google adwords with a coupon if you can or a bing, yahoo first and then see how people react to your ads before you decide to spend your money on them. Best of luck.

I have an idea of a niche i dont hear about to much in the warrior forums. I have ideas of how to create a website around this but im stuck on what to sell them. Is their a good place to look for stuff to sell them that may relate to my niche? Ive created an ebook already about this niche which is what i plan on giving for free when they submit their email. Just looking for products to sell i guess instead of sending them CPA offers (cant find to many CPA offers based on my idea)

As another newbie i hear ya. But it has taken a week or so to realise that it is just common sense. I mean what do you do with all the emails that you get sent that are trying to sell you. The guy that i think has a great feel about him is Brendan Burchard. He gives alot for free and builds relationship really well - i know he is well regarded at present in Australia - i imagine it is the same in the US.

If you have a list. Remember to send them an email only 3-4 times per week. People really hate spam.

your best bet is Google and research your niche. Type you niche and then CPA at the end. Or login to your CPA company and see if they don't already have offers for your niche.
