BuddyPress AND vBulletin AND Wishlist??

Thanks to some great warriors I decided to bite the bullet and build my own community (rather than going with Ning). Technology learning curve - here I come!

But now I can't seem to wrap my head around BuddyPress, vBulletin and Wishlist (I currently use WL). I just installed BP with WP but it's definitely not doing what I want it to do yet.

Do I need ALL of them together?

BP and vB seem to have some overlap too. Any suggestions?

    I think you need a "wish list" or features. Probably any of them can be customized to do what you want, but hopefully you can find one that is closest, and hopefully also find a developer that is good with the changes you need. I'm working on a multi-blogger community myself, so I would love to see what you end up deciding, and why. Here is mine.

    vBulletin is a complete CMS from forum, blogs, to news posts it is very fresh and updated amongst its competitors. It deserves its license fee.
