How to Get Thousands of Blog Traffic?

Hello,
I wonder how to get thousands of blog traffic coming to a blog. Actually, I have done few steps such as:

1. Submit to search engines
2. Updating blog regularly
3. Ping after updating a blog.
4. Promote to social network (Facebook/Twitter).
5. Submit to bookmarking sites.
6. Article submission.
7. blog commenting.

But I still don't get enough traffic coming to my blog, maybe I need to do more? Your opinion is highly appreciated.

The best way would be to snipe keywords. That means to pick out long tailed keywords with no competition and a subtle amount of searches and rank for them. Focus on that and you will be golden.

I did this. To be honest, yes, there are a few traffic coming to my blog but I wonder if there is any additional methods to get thousands of traffic?

Most people go about getting traffic the wrong way!

Instead of getting traffic to your site, how about you go to them. Your website and products arent gunna sell themselves now are they????

So go to the place where your most likely buyers / customer / prospect is hanging out and try to put your message infront of them. Simple as that.

Getting traffic is more about working smarter, not harder.

100 highly targeted visitors, is better than 10,000 hits to your site that are untargeted.

What do you mean by "long tailed" and how many searches monthly is a good amount to focus ?

I don't think anyone fully answered these questions. Apologies if someone did and I missed it.

Long tailed keywords are actually key phrases with more words in them. The more words there are, the longer the tail so to speak. Long tail keywords generally get fewer searches and are often overlooked or ignored by some marketers

As far as the number of searches is concerned, obviously the more the better. But you have to consider how much competition you will face for the keywords as well. There are differences of opinion on how many searches are enough but if you can find upward of 2000 searches per month for a keyword, without too much competition, it is probably worth chasing.

When I submit an article, can I post the same article to my website?
When I post articles to article directories, I post spun versions of the one I put on my own website. I'm posting to article directories for the backlinks but I don't want those articles competing with my website article. So I'm only concerned with doing on-page SEO on my own site's article.

There is nothing to stop you posting the same article to submission sites that you post on your own site but Google will only rank one of the articles. There's no guarantee that it will be the one on your own site.

I couldn't of said it better myself.

That is also why seo traffic or traffic from the search engines converts so well it is laser targeted buying traffic if you do your keyword research properly. Astroke that was a good response also.

    I agree check your keywords...
Perform a good keyword research...but you have t know that keyword research for effective results needs a lot of patience and intelligent calculations.
Here is one you can do:

Use Google Keyword Tool, Google Insight and Google Suggestions. You will get the exact number of monthly searches on Google Keyword Tool. Then,
    a) Download them in an excel sheet.
    b) Find out your kind of keywords (that match your website content and products).
    c) Sort them by daily searches.

Then obtain a right balance of the keywords throughout. Usually, it should have a keyword density of 2% to 5%.

      Hello,

Would you please elaborate more on how to find keywords? This is like mining gold ! Any free tools to do with that? This is really hard to do.

However, we need to ensure that the keyword is stable and gets always traffic..

Thanks, I had my website for about 6 months if I'm not mistaken but because a lot of changes I've made to my website, that's why it takes time for me to submit and promote my website. :p

A simple plan to 1000 visitors a day from Search Engines:

Ok, so this isn't a super-duper high tech push button system, but it's real, it works and it's scaleable. So hear me out 'till the end!

What I've been doing with my sites outside of the IM market is targeting keywords that get between 500-1000 searches per month.

Whenever I write a post on one of these low-searched keywords I find that I don't have to do much work at all to get it ranked. As long as the on-page SEO is bang on and I use a social bookmarking tool to get the post indexed.

Think, a keyword that gets between 500-1000 searches per month could potentially bring somewhere between 8-25 visits per day to your site if not more. I'm just under estimating in this instance.

Therefore, if you was to write ONE post per day, everyday for 90 days based on keywords that get 500-1000 searches per month you'd be getting 1000 visits per day, if not more.

In fact you'll probably be getting more because by the end of your 90-day run you'll have 90 keywords so you'll be getting traffic from the LSI keyword variations too that you didn't initially anticipate.

I don't always target this type of keyword. I normally target large keywords too and register an EMD for the blog URL to eventually I'll be ranking for that too.

On the other end of the scale I also target keywords that get much less searches than that, even keywords that display NoData or '-'.

I like to get as many keywords out there as I can because the more keywords I'm ranking for, big or small, I'll get more traffic because I'll also rank for a ton of LSI variations.

Try it, you have NOTHING to lose and EVERYTHING to gain.

Russ- I want to second that idea! I get around 4000 hits per month to my blog using that strategy. Some of the keywords get a few hits every day. Some keywords get huge amounts of traffic.

      Just keep with it!

  • Ever wonder why you always hear pretty much the same suggestions for getting traffic?

There are other ways. No one wants to talk about them, though. Because if we did, then everyone would do it.

No, there isn't a Secret Traffic Club with handshake and password. But every experienced marketer has a trick or two up her sleeve.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find your own secret trick. I can't tell you what it will be. It will depend on what you're blogging about, demographics, how much cash you have to burn and other factors. Read. Do some research. Talk to people.

When you find it, it's going to feel soooo good.

For the no.1, I did it before and you are right, it works. But I did it with my different blog.

For the no.2, I did it already and I haven't see any traffic from it and for the Facebook fanpae, it seems that Facebook has deleted my fanpage.
