Extreme Noob Question

Ok, this is going to sound really bad and should only take a second to answer. If i sign up for an affiliate program, can i then buy the product from myself. Is that legal? Can i use it like a coupon? Thanks...

Good question. It depends entirely on which affiliate program you are in.

In some cases - yes, you can do that.

In other cases, you are forbidden to do it, and may get thrown out from the program if you try.

You need to read the rules for each program.

Marketers do it all the time.

Depending on the payment/aff system it may not be possible to purchase from yourself as a security measure.

Every once in a while I get people trying to purchase my products through the system I use and they get stopped dead in their tracks with a message that goes out to them telling them they can't buy from themselves.

Its very controverial whether its ethical and or socially exceptable to purchase through your own affiliate link.

Its really prevalent with Clickbank products.

It would be found in your affiliate agreement. some companies don't care others will ban you from making purchases ever. so before you go out and do it just read up on things.

most marketers wont mind as long as you are trying to promote the product, and not just signing up as an affiliate to get a discount
