Best Affiliate Program for Physical Goods? Amazon, Ebay, other?

Which physical goods seller pays the most commission? I want to set up a couple of physical stores, but I want to know who to use to get the best commission.

For instance, there was a thread on promoting snowmobiles for the winter. Amazon was mentioned, but are they the only outlet?

What is Amazon's commission structure?
Ebay seems like a waste of time if you only get a portion of their fees. Is it really 50%, though?

The reason I ask is, I found a great niche with no competition, but a lot of searches. But, most of the items are between $15 and $200. Can this be profitable?

Thanks

  • I love amazon 1st and ebay 2nd

    here's amazon %

    https://affiliate-program.amazon.com...pensation.html

doesn't matter that it's lower to me, people seem to buy like gangbusters at amazon, and multiple things at once, which more than makes up for it, even at the 4% in electronics.

Doing physical products can be tough
The commissions are lower because of the initial product cost.

The key (in my opinion) to selling physical products online is it has to fit in one or more of the following.
    • must be a hard to find item -not easily available at your local stores
    • discontinued or rare item
    • cheaper than buying local
    • convenient - such as having a huge selection (I know a guy who sells shoelaces - thats all his entire online store stocks. You can bet he has the best selection anywhere including rare, unique and hard to find styles and patterns)
The reason why ebay works is because they sell a lot of used and hard to find items. However you are sharing the final value fees with ebay which means you are probably only making 3-4% (if that)

Amazon has the same type of structure as ebay. Amazon charges the seller to sell the item and you get a % of what they collect.

If you go on Commission Junction you will find a lot of vendors selling physical products - commission will be 10% - 18%

Depending on what the product is you are interested in, you might have better luck becoming a drop shipper for it.
In that case you will make up to 50% on the item

The good thing about Amazon is that if someone wants something -- they can buy it and you get the commission. The bad thing is that there is a 1 day cookie and unless you're doing volume it can be tough. When you start selling some volume the commissions are quite good!

The good thing about eBay is the 7 day cookie + the compensation for getting new sign ups. The bad thing about eBay is that they have to win for you to get paid. Even if they wanted the item...they have to win it.

On the Earn 1 K a Day forum there are several people who are making huge amounts with eBay! One guy started pulling in over over 10K per month within 3 months.

I'm focusing on Amazon right now, but once I get more of those promotions earning more passive income I'm going to move to ebay "Mini Money Sites" as Dennis Becker calls them
