I'm officially going to start promoting my first product tomorrow, and I have a few questions.

Hello Warriors I've been doing a lot of research in the recent months trying to figure out how to start my marketing journey.

After a lot of research, I've decided to start out with article marketing to promote my affiliate products.

My starting budget is $ 200.00

I will be getting:

1) Hosting (hostgator)
2) Domain
3) Articles! I will be outsourcing all articles, so how many should I purchase?

My plan is to submit 2 articles a day to as many article directories as I have time for. I'll continue doing this everyday until I'm out of articles.

I'll also be submitting to social bookmarking sites as well as making a few squidoo lenses.

So here's my questions:

If I submit my articles to ezarticles , goarticles, etc... Is it ok to put my wordpress website link in the resource box to promote my affiliate products? Do i just continue to do this for all articles, bookmarking sites, squidoo lenses, etc and just repeat?

I havent made a website yet but I plan on using wordpress with SEO plug-ins. I'm just kind of lost on the best way to promote my products once people have clicked on my site. Is it best to have a review maybe comparing other products or should i try to convince people to by the product?

My mind is going crazy right now and I cant even think, I had so many more questions before i started to make this thread but I've forgot them all. Ahhhhhhh I'm so lost...LoL I know I need to take this 1 step at a time but I also know I need a plan in order for this to work. I'm just looking for help on my plan.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks,
Devin

Create your landing page that sells one thing only.

Then drive traffic to it. You need a lot of hits to see some results - but this of course depends on the quality of your landing page, demand for product and quality of traffic.

you should spend part of the $200 on something that has to do with training on autoresponders and on landing pages.

Learning how to use these two tools is the KEY to building a list and producing a consistent income online.

    I completely disagree...

The landing page that everything links to should be an optin...

THEN redirect to your affiliate link.

That way you get a list, your site gets high pr and alexa ranks, and you can change the product if you ever want to.

That's what I'm trying to figure out, I was hoping for atleast 20 but who knows. I was gonna submit the same 2 articles a day to different directories. I heard using the same duplicate content isn't so bad as long as its not on the same domain? =)

Why not just write the article yourself and not risk losing money?

I wish I could but I completely draw a blank when trying to write new material. I've sat down and tried but eventually just get too frustrated and blank out. I guess I can contribute this to A.D.D. =(

It sounds as if you've got a great plan.

    Relax...

Setting everything up WP (after you buy your domain and hosting) is your first priority, so get it done.

It shouldn't take you longer than half an hour to do that:

    1. buy domain
    2. Buy hosting
    3. Set up domain on host
    4. Use Fantastico to set up WP
    5. Install All in One SEO plugin

Then: write an article, post it to the blog. Change the title and introduction and post it to EA.

OTOH, I never bother changing anything in my articles, but you may want to do it until you've got 30 to 40 posts.

Good luck -- there's nothing to be worried about, just take it step by step.

    Cheers

    Angela

Update: I just noticed that you're out-sourcing. Buy the best quality articles you can afford for your $200. First impressions count, so you want your first articles to be quality. And as OPs have said, get an autoresponder so you can build a list (ask your writer to compile five of your articles into a short report.)

In addition to writing articles, I would write a press release to announce the company to the public and (hopefully) spark some interest in to from targeted readers. PM me for more info and I will give you something to help you out.

Need An Article is pretty good. I've used them and the the articles are good and the turn around time is about 24 hrs.
You can also use PLR and re-write them yourself or, have them re-written for about 1/2 the cost of a new article.
By all means post the articles on your blog first.
And, absolutely, your landing page should be your squeeze page.

It really depends on what kind of product you are promoting. If this is a one-time shot where people need an instant fix, you would be better off taking them straight to your affiliate link. Too many products and too much choice get people confused. If you want to present them options, do a review and compare products and recommend the most expensive one as the best one and the most highly rated.

Yah its ok to put your wordpress link in the articles....

Just keep doing that as much as possible, and then bookmark all the articles that you submit with tools like Digg and stumbleupon.

I say take some of the money and buy some plr products. So after a person hits the opt in list then sell them something your going to make100% of the profit from.

I'm sorry but I have to disagree with most of the things that's been said here.
The first thing that you should do with the $200 is "NOT SPEND IT" but try to let it grow to a budget where you can work with. You really shouldn't worry about search engine ranking yet. Don't get me wrong here.. it's important but not your first priority. When you just start a business you don't need organic traffic, you need targeted traffic right away to build your prospect list in the shortest amount of time. I have a sales page that has a page rank of "zero" and still I'm getting 300 to 500 visitors a day! It really all comes down to basic online marketing. The first thing you should do is sign up with an autoresponder (AWeber = $19/month). Doing business online without an autoresponder is like going fishing without the bate.

Here's a technique that I used when I started in online marketing that worked really great! (In fact I'm still using it)
    In short:
Create a good squeeze page with an opt-in form that offers free downloads that are related to your products. Join at least 5 different Traffic Exchange programs. Spend a little amount of money to buy credits in all 5 of them. Spend 30 minutes per day to surf the sites in these programs. (all at the same time) After two weeks of doing this every day you'll be amazed how many people will opt-in! Once your prospects have opt-in, you redirect them to a "one time offer page" with your products:

Something like: "Important: before you continue...you"re only going to see this page once ever, it's crucial that you read every word here very carefully and act immediately because you won't get a second chance and...bla bla bla"

Let them scroll down if they want to skip the "one time offer" to continue to the free download page. Once on the free download page you offer them a last chance to purchase your products at a discount. If they still decide not to purchase, well...no problem because they're now in your list...you can market them as much as you like.

    To your success!

    grts Nick

Thanks a lot for the responses everyone, I'll do my best and hopefully make a few sales along the way. I'm not planning on getting rich instantly, I'm just hoping to see 1 or 2 sales then I'll at least know that I CAN make money online. Just as a kind of confidence booster. =)

    Thanks,
    Devin
