Want to try a Press Release....

Hi there,

I would like to try a Press Release for on of my sites. Wondering where to submit to

I have heard about www.webwire.com a paid service and
www.free-press-releases.com. should I submit to both and many more directories?
Do you tend to just write the one per niche or multiple ones for different KW's like articles? Do they tend to stick around for long - would I for example build backlinks to them after submitting them?
I am really looking to do this for traffic purposes rather SEO benefits.
Any help or tips really appreciated.
Thanks!

    No, they don't stick long.
If you can manage to get it in the main news sites, they will be only for a couple of days max, however, the traffic that you are going to get during the buzz is astonishing

NOTE: When I say that they don't stick long, I mean that they will be at the top for a short time, but the text will always be available like an article, which means that the backlinks still count.

I've never used press releases (yet) but isn't the idea that they are used for special events or things like product launches?

I think the whole idea with a press release is it contains something news worthy rather than being just a general interest article.

Yes, I think you could make anything just about news worthy - make one about cheap lawnmowers for example with the latest......, or you could make it about a brand new site reviewing cheap lawnmowers.

I use PRWeb and swear by them. Just got involved with a new pilot program with them, where we can do unlimited press releases for up to one year. I am very excited about this.

There are multiple purposes you can utilize a press release for, and speaking strictly non-seo benefits, there are still many useful purposes.

I've used them to promote website launches, product launches for items that I promote via affiliate codes, new apps, and all kinds of other "events." You can get creative an pretty much announce anything worthwhile.

From an SEO perspective, nothing can benefit your site like a bunch of links from high quality sources--which the press release syndication does for you. I tell people all the time, that if you want to stabilize a site that is dancing erratically... do a press release!

I recommend PRWeb and nobody else. They charge a premium, but you'll get results.

You're going to fail. If you're afraid of failure then you do not belong in the Internet Marketing Business. Period.

    Hi,

If you are looking for a solid low cost press release site to try you can try Press Release Distribution Services - WebWire (only around $60 for a PR with the SEO goodies).

Of course if you have the capital to invest you can certainly try PRweb

Best thing to be aware of is that it is absolutely critical to use excellent keyword research when writing your press release so you know exactly what phrases to get the traffic coming to your site that's going to work best for converting traffic into customers
